Morrissey 12,662 #106 Posted April 12, 2009 Insurance runs would be nice. I'd like to see Gardner try and bunt for a single to lead off the inning.

Morrissey 12,662 #109 Posted April 12, 2009 Marte gets the first 2 outs, now they bring in the right handed Veras to pitch to the right handed pitch hitter Butler. Mixing and matching...

I would go to Mo for the 4 outs after the Veras walk. Hopefully Coke gets the job done.

Vengeful Odin 1,636 #114 Posted April 12, 2009 Wow, I didn't expect the Yankees bullpen to blow a lead like this. Soria warming up ... best pitcher on the Royals roster.
GimmeShelter 21,640 #115 Posted April 12, 2009 Dammit... bullpen blows it Yeah the moves were good on paper but Bruney was dominant and also once you needed a 2nd righty in Veras, why not just let Mo get the win sealed?.
AFJF 40,907 #116 Posted April 12, 2009 How does Gardner not dive for that blooper? The go-ahead run is on base and he lets the ball fall two feet in front of him? Poor decision by Gardner.

The guys he put up against coke to flip them around was a bad call. I think the first guy who drove in Pena Jr. was 0-3 on the day from the LH side and his stats say he hits BETTER from the RH side of the plate. That's the game pretty much. Soria is damn good. Bob 258,589 #118 Posted April 12, 2009 Hey, Clueless Joe! Did you happen to notice Coke is throwing BP out there? What the hell do they pay you for? Idiot.

GimmeShelter 21,640 #121 Posted April 12, 2009 Damn... I like Girardi but these were poor calls today. Can't win em all. Got too cute. Soria was up and down in spring so let's see what happens. Otherwise, two tough NY losses today.

I mean I see the reasoning but if someone is not hitting from one side of the plate... leave em there. If it ain't broken... dont' fix it.

uart 14,548 #125 Posted April 12, 2009 Girardi made a mess of this one, and yet it seems that this game has re-ignited the Joba-bullpen crap. He's one of the five best starters we have. Your best five starters is always your rotation, even if one of them is good in the bullpen too. Mo moved to the bullpen because he wasn't good as a starter, if he was good as a starter, he would've been a starter.

Your best five starters is always your rotation, even if one of them is good in the bullpen too. Mo moved to the bullpen because he wasn't good as a starter, if he was good as a starter, he would've been a starter. No Joba pen talk needed. Joe needed to just stick with his best two late inning set-up guys and save the kids for a less pressure situation. Bruney and Marte got 5 straight outs and needed one more to get to Mo.
