Ryno the Jet
Gayson Taylor will be next.. ZT and JT reunited in KC makes sense. They are family and all. Aw shucks, that would be cute. Two used-to-bes riding off into the sunset together. Just like the old days, except these days they are the old part. Is pioliokidoke running a retirement home or an NFL franchise? Vrabel, Thomas, and maybe Taylor. Are there Geritol tests in the NFL?

Vengeful Odin
I think Thomas will be asked to mentor Kansas City's young linebackers more than anything. Derrick Johnson is a solid player. Aaron Curry or Brian Orakpo is likely the choice for KC at #3. With Vrabel and Thomas on the roster, Kansas City basically will have two coaches on the field. I could even see KC kicking Curry inside and pairing him with Vrabel. They'd have Hali and Johnson at OLB ... so Thomas wouldn't be seeing much action on the field. Thats exactly the way I see Vrabel being there. To teach the 3 - 4 to whomever KC drafts at LB. Likely a ILB since they call the defensive plays. IMO, KC will trade down too. You may not like Thomas - understandable since he played most of his career in Miami - but the guy was renowned for his preparation during the week. He'll help whomever the Chiefs bring in at LB, not just out on the field at practice but during film study as well. I also expect him to go into coaching when he's done, provided he doesn't have any more concussion issues.

He made Channing Crowder into the flim wizard that he now is and will do the same for the Chiefs. We can also thank Zach for Channing taking the lower amount of $ to play for us. The Miami Dolphins dont bother me like some people. All I'm saying is that I'm 99% sure that KC will use the 3 - 4 as their base defense. Vrabel has played in that D his entire NFL career- both OLB and ILB. When Bruschi has been injured, it is Vrabel who moves inside to take his spot since he knows that defense backwards and forwards and can make the defensive adjustments. I know Thomas has played some 3 - 4, but not to the extent of Mike Vrabel. Both are good players but are fading IMO

Glenn Dorsey could be the next Warren Sapp in the 43 gap control defense but I'm not exactly sure where he figures into the mix in the 34. Can he put on the weight to play the nose without losing agility? Or does he transition to the outside and play the end and try to become the next Ty Warren? I know, some of the Chiefs D players arent going like or get the 3 - 4 and will likely be traded. Dorsey went to LSU. Did he play some 3 - 4 under Saban? PatriotReign37
no!!!! Chefs are going to blow No what? KC is going to compete for the division. Firing Herm netted at least 4 wins. Oakland is a mess, Denver is a mess and SD will be good but they have Norv Turner.

Aqua4ever04
I agree with the Patsy here and I'll say they improve as much as four games from a year ago. In that division, I don't think 8-8 is too far out of the question.
