Morrissey 12,989 Posted April 15, 2009 Even though Boston won a championship with Beckett, and Lowell, I still think they're going to eventually regret trading Hanley Ramirez away. Yeah, I disagree
Morrissey 12,989 Posted April 15, 2009 Hanley Ramirez is really the best player in baseball. Why do you think media has learned that Boston has been trying to get him back. They realize that he's a stud right now. 1. No he's not (He's the best hitting shortstop, for now... He's not a good fielding shortstop, he's probably going to move to the OF. 2. How does that make him the best player in baseball?
Morrissey 12,989 Posted April 15, 2009 Hanley Ramirez is a 5 tool player, why the hell wouldn't he be in the running for the best player in the game? He can hit about .330, get 30 home runs, steal 50 bags. On the offensive side he's one of the most deadly players in the game. His bad defense is improving by the day, in fact the entire Marlins defense looks so improved after 7 games. He does all this and he's only 25. 5 tool players can field there position. Morrissey 12,989 Posted April 15, 2009 (edited) Ramirez is a below average short stop. Besides base stealing, Ramirez is in the mold of David Wright, look at there numbers, there similar. Edited April 15, 2009 by Tyler Durden
Morrissey 12,989 Posted April 15, 2009 If that's so then Derek Jeter is a crappy Short Stop. Umm.. yeah, yeah he is. Derek Jeter, at this point of his career, is a horrible short stop. What's your point? Last time I checked, no one is saying Jeter is the best player in the game.
Morrissey 12,989 Posted April 15, 2009 (edited) Well, basically what your saying, when Alex Rodriguez first made the move to third base, he wasn't too good at the position. Would they have made him not the best player in the game then, because his defense wasn't too good. That's basically what you're saying about Hanley Ramirez. What the hell are you talking about? Alex Rodriguez was a great shortstop when he moved in 3B. You are totally lost. Edited April 15, 2009 by Tyler Durden
Morrissey 12,989 Posted April 15, 2009 (edited) When he moved to third base, he was horrible there, I guess that doesn't mean he was the best then, because he sucked at a certain position. Like I said, that's basically what you're saying. You're kidding right? He was getting acclimated to a new position, and has been an above average third basemen since. WOW, am I the only one dumbfounded by what this kid is saying? You got to be joking. Edited April 15, 2009 by Tyler Durden
Morrissey 12,989 Posted April 15, 2009 (edited) I would say that Jason Bartlett is the best defensive SS in the AL East, Bartlett and Aki turn some of the best Double Plays in the majors but I wont lie, Jeter is still the best all around SS in the AL East, hands down...I've never seen a player as clutch as Jeter behind the plate and what he lacks on the defensive side of the ball...He makes up for it with his bat John McDonald is better, though I'm not sure if he starts. EDIT: Marco Scutaro does. Edited April 15, 2009 by Tyler Durden
Morrissey 12,989 Posted April 15, 2009 (edited) Are we not allowed to have different opinions on stuff? You need to grow up, and realize people wont have the same opinion as you on everything. An opinion is blue is the nicest color, you're opinion CAN'T be A-Rod was a below average fielding short stop... because that's asinine. It's like me saying, in my opinion Johan Santana is a bad pitcher. If I said that, you have every right to call me out on it.
