Verde
When I was about 10 a classmate thought it would be funny to tap me on the shoulder (in the gym locker room) and then throw talcum powder in my face when I turned around.. I couldn't see for about a half hour afterwards and thought I was blind. Very scary thing for a 10 yr old. I never saw or found out who did it; I can only hope karma has since paid her a visit. I'm older than 10 now but recently I had something where my eye hurt so badly I couldn't keep it open and thus I couldn't see much at all (just glimpses of things and what I could try to look out of the other eye). I was terrified. It went away after a few hours, thankfully. Never found out what was going on there.

When I was an infant (of course I don't remember this) my then 2yr old brother wanted to "powder the baby" so he dumped an entire cannister of Comet cleanser all over my face. My mom says my nose and eyes were caked shut with the cleanser. The can says lots of things about blindness etc on it if it touches your eyes. Well, she held my face in running water for about 20 minutes. Now, at 40 I have 20/20 vision and am the only one in my family withOUT glasses. I'm thinking the Comet must have polished them up a bit. jetophile
Not sure whether to keep this serious or light, but since there's too many to list, I guess I'll just keep it honest and go with the first one that comes to mind. In truth, I try to avoid the others when I can, but that's become harder for me the past few years for reasons I didn't come to understand until fairly recently. Not trying to be cryptic, it's just too involved. I think I may have mentioned this story before a long time ago in a similar thread. My Mom's family thought it was OK to kick me off the side of a building while she was laying in bed dying. That's the long and short of it, even though the details would show how bad it really was. Years later, I waited for a year until after my Grandma passed out of respect they didn't deserve - and then called them up one by one and told them what I thought of them and why. No way what occurred would have happened to anyone else in the family. It became apparent to me that they thought it was OK to act the way they did because I wasn't blood, especially given some of their comments over the years. I was never sensitive about it, but I'm hard pressed to think that most people wouldn't have been hurt - or as insulted as hell. Anyway, people say screwed up things when people are dying, but the point is, they could have waited until my Mom's body was cold. They'd been throwing me a bone my entire life because of my Mom. Yeah, well, keep it.

I'm sorry you had that happen to you too.Ugh. I reckon there's a mild distinction between what is the worst thing that has ever happened to you as opposed what is the to the worst thing anyone has ever done to you. Many think it's the latter. Suicide, what a loaded subject. Sorry to you and Slowmoe. Take care, both of you. I mean both a yous. This is friggin' New York.

In all fairness I was too young to fully comprehend the situation but the way the kids in school treated me was what I was getting at -- and I can go on and on about the old man and how others have treated me but some things are best left unsaid - Some have happy childhoods some don't. I was the latter but that was then and I wouldnt change things in my life now for anything.
124
A friend of mine and my best friend growing up asked us to walk over two towns over to play some basketball (about 4 miles, but at 15 years old, we did that all the time). We got there and there were about, no lie, 30 kids there waiting, including him. One of the kids, I had messed around with his girlfriend, wanted me to fight his 20 year old cousin (he was 18 but I was still twice his size). I refused because he was 5 years older than me and was built like a ship. My friend mouthed off to the 20 year old and then all of a sudden a circle was formed and before I knew it, my friend and him were going at it, my friend half the size of me, didn't stand a chance. So I ran in in the middle of it, threw off one kid who came in at me (thankfully only one kid did it, I was worried the other 28 would bec oming too) and I got to the kids cousin, hit him in the mouth, knocked him on his ass. My friend layed there, had a broken arm that we didn't know, all bloodied. The 20 year old came from behind, punched me in the back of the head I turned around, took him by his hair (he had longer type hair) and slammed it down on the pavement twice, breaking his nose and shattering some of his teeth. We all heard siruns and we ran. Anyways, this "friend" kept in contact with us, trying to get us to hang out. When I turned 17, we agreed to hang out. My friend hid in my trunk as I drove me and him to the Wendy's, about 10 miles away. We went inside and when it was our turn in line I said "Oh **** I forgot my wallet in the car, order me so and so" and so he did. I got in the car and peeled off, about a mile away I parked, opened the trunk and my friend and I started laughing. What we didn't know until later was the kid forgot his cellphone and wallet at his house, so he was stranded there for HOURS. Great revenge.
