SweetLee83
For a 1st, 4th and a conditional pick in 2010. The Eagles have acquired Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters from the Bills for the 28th overall pick in next week's draft, FOXSports.com has learned. Buffalo will also receive a 4th round pick in this year's draft, as well as a late-round pick in the 2010 draft. Peters held out before the start of the 2008 season, missing Buffalo's entire training camp and all four of the team's preseason games. Peters ended his holdout before the regular season began with the Bills never giving in to his contract demands. Peters, 27, has made the Pro Bowl the last two seasons, and was an All-Pro selection in 2007. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/9466866/Sources:-Eagles-trade-for-Bills-Pro-Bowl-LT-Peters

Stonehands
Why wouldn't Philly just take a tackle like Britton or Beatty at 28 and save the 4th rounder and the salary?

So well, in fact, that the deal could be announced Friday. The initial expectation was it could take until Sunday. The conditional pick for 2010 might be only a sixth-rounder. Probably not what Buffalo Bills fans wanted to hear, but the club's intention was to get first- and third-round picks for Peters. The Bills received a first, a fourth and next year's pick for an undrafted player they didn't invest much in besides time and money.

SweetLee83
I'll take it. He didn't want to be here, and I'm sick of playing games. They offered him a deal on par with Jordan Gross (top 1 or 2 LT salary) and he wouldn't take it, so he can **** off. I'll take some picks from Philly, and save the 11 mil per, they can pay it. Hopefully Oher at #11 for us.
Stonehands
known commodity > unknown commodity. Yeah, but in a tackle rich draft it seems like a heck of a lot to give up. The last couple of years, we have seen top tackles contribute right away and at bargain prices versus what Peters figures to get.

Thai Jet
Why wouldn't Philly just take a tackle like Britton or Beatty at 28 and save the 4th rounder and the salary? They tried that once with Wonston Justice out of USC. He's only amounted to a back up so they want the real deal this time.

Gainzo
Good deal for the Bills. Peters sucked balls last year (ask any Bills fan) and wasn't happy with his compensation. How he made the Pro Bowl last year is beyond me.

The last couple of years, we have seen top tackles contribute right away and at bargain prices versus what Peters figures to get. As others have said, 2006 was a "tackle rich draft" and they ended up with Winston ****ing Justice. They probably figured it was a steal at the time. Then they put the guy on the field... Aten
It's not Randy Moss for a fourth or anything but it sucks to see a division rival make out so well. Peters is a fat piece of crap and he's been coasting for two years. I can't believe they actually got a first round pick for a guy who just stops trying whenever he a) gets paid or doesn't get paid. Boynton Beach Jets
known commodity > unknown commodity. 100% right on, I think a happy Jason Peters will give the Eagles one of the top o-lines in football while weakening one of the Jets rivals whom will forced to use a unknown commodity to replace him

Now do you understand ? Luckily Mike T's not as stupid as your Russ B so it never gets to that point. It's called being pro active. You then TOTALLY missed my point. You call Russ Brandon stupid, twice now, yet when I put it in terms of a player(s) on your team, you didn't answer how it should be handled. My response was to you calling our GM stupid, the first time you did. He had no choice. I tried putting it in terms of your team. Our GM didn't let it get to any point. He should have to offer players a new contract every year. The first year Peters held out as right after he signed a 4 year deal. Don't sign a contract if you think you'll out play it. He had 3 years left on a 4 year deal and wanted to hold out already. They then wanted to give it another year, he held out, came back and sucked, still made the "Pro Bowl" somehow, and then refused to sign any kind of deal. His new contract with Philly doesn't kick in for another 2 years, so he's playing under his current one. Clearly show he didn't want to be here, or have anything to do with the Bills, when they offered him new money for this year.
