Oh how awesome ESPN is. ;)

17. Jets: Michael Vick, QB, Virginia Tech

Team needs: quarterback, wide receiver, defensive end

No doubt this is a risky pick, considering Peyton Manning and Terry Bradshaw are still on the board. On one hand, Vick offers a tantalizing combination of athleticism -- a 4.33 time in the 40 and a 40

Read the entire thing before you criticize.

What if we could hop in a time machine and bring back all the best prospects in history for this year's draft? Of course, professional accomplishments don't count. This exercise is based strictly on the scouting reports at the conclusion of college careers. Our big board is an amalgam of only the most ballyhooed prospects. With a few exceptions, these are players who were drafted in the top five overall. Players such as Joe Montana and Tom Brady, who were seen as too physically limited by many evaluators, need not apply.

5. Cincinnati - Tony Mandarich.

I get it, it's supposed to be a "funny" mock draft. The theory being that Cincinnati always stinks and drafts nothing but busts so they would **** up and take Mandarich with all the players in history and nothing but their college resumes available to them.

Peyton Manning in college >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Vick in college.

However, I'll say this.

This mock draft is about as useful as the REAL ones people do.

Fixed.

Peyton Manning could never win the big game, despite all the NFL talent he had around him. Vick was viewed as a multi purpose threat. Its quite simple.

But nobody held it against him because they knew his team was outgunned.

No way Vick ever gets drafted ahead of Manning unless its by someone smoking a whole hell of a lot of crack.

The only "big game" Vick could win over Manning was at the local dog fight.

Um actually you don't get it at all. This draft has nothing to do with how they did as pros only how hyped they were out of college. Mandarich was one of the most hyped up prospects ever.
