The worse scenerio to me on draft day.

I heard this on 1010 this morning by one of these draft "experts"(WHAT A JOB!)

In my opinion this is a very exciting draft for the Jets. Probably since the year we had four 1's. The Brickashaw year was boring(an OT at #4?,not saying it was a terrible pick, but a snooze fest!)

This year we have so many options! We know pretty much we're going offense. I'd say we pretty much know it's RB,WR or QB, but the variety is so vast. We could go on all day, with all the possibilities, that's why it's great, ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN!!

My favorite would probably be:

Beenie Wells falls to #17, but i'd take Moreno,

then trade Thomas"contract" Jones at the highest trade value of his career, off a peak season and package him for Boldin#1, but could live with Edwards, reuniting Mangini with his little rushing champ buddy.

(I don't buy the whole "#1 receiver vs. #2 and "field stretchers" vs. possesion guys. Give me a pair of Bada$$ #2's, Boldin and Cotchery, I guarantee the field will be "stretched"!!!!!!!!!)Plus, with a rookie QB(they're rookies to me), I want "possesion" guys. Especially great ones.( I admit you'd like them to catch)

HERE IS THE WORST SCENERIO I'VE HEARD SO FAR, ON 1010 THIS MORNING:

1. If Sanchez is around at 6 or 7 or so, package picks and trade up to grab him. I wanted to send an electrical charge through his headset!!!!

How would you feel if the Jets gave Cincy at 6 our 1st and 3rd to grab Sanchez?

One other question:

How would you feel about that same exact situation with Crabtree?or with Wells? I say no and no.

I never saw a guy improve so much in April.

yes you did. His name was Gholston.

And that's why many think the only reason the JETS will try to move up - More likely at 8 (Jacksonville/Picks) than at 6 (Cleaveland/Player & Picks) - is only if Mark Sanchez is not taken in the top 4 Picks:

  1. Detroit Lions- Lions could use a QB but they have multiple 1st round picks with their aquasition of the 20th pick from Miami. Plus, the chance of getting a Franchise QB later in the 1st may be less of a financial burdon if he does not pan out.
  2. St. Louis Rams - Rams are high on OT Andre Smith From Alabama & have Marc Bulger at QB - Taking a QB at #2 would be too expensive.
  3. Kansas City Chiefs - The former Herm Edwards debacle needs to increase strength where it's needed the most - Defense. No QB's will be taken here!
  4. Seattle Seahawks - Though Matt Hasselback is 35 this year, he still has the moves & arm streingth to exceed well beyond all 4 QB's available at this draft. Besides, he needs a stronger front line to give him more time in the pocket - Expect Eugene Monroe of Virginia to take the spot here.

That leaves us at Cleaveland at 5:

  • Mangini may want to trade with us, however, he may also want to take either Sanchez (if available) or Stafford & trade away Brady Quinn for multiple picks (and or players instead).
  • Many however have him taking either Michael Crabtree (if the Lions & Chiefs pass) or Arron Curry at this pick. If the top 4 run the way I posted, expect the former "MANGINIOUS" to play a game with the rest of the NFL.
    • That is until his 10:00 minutes are up!

Now that leaves us trying to make a trade at either 5, 6, 7 or even 8 (Jaguars). Should Sanchez still be on the board.

I'd take the Brady Quinn trade (6th & Jones) with Mangini over going after Sanchez - but that's just me.

You leave out the very real possiblity that KC will trade the pick (WAS is the latest rumor). In any event, it seems that Sanchez has charmed his way into the hearts of several NFL decision makers. He will very likely be gone by the fifth pick.

Hey, if he winds up in Cleaveland, we stand a great chance of getting Brady Quinn - Fine by me!

PLEASE NO BRADY QUINN<PLEASE NO BRADY QUINN!!!!!!!!!

He horrible. Stay put at 17. Don't overplay this, we could come out with a stud RB and a stud receiver.

Nobody knows if Sanchez is any better than Clemens or Ratliff, but we know any RB behind this line will be a stud, we know TJ had his best career ever and we can dump him and his contract crying for a #17 RB, and Boldin for a third. I love that scenerio! Plus we'll probably squeeze a six or seven out of Arizona, next year or something.

The more I hear the names Sanchez or Quinn the more I like Kellen Clemens!!!!!

QUINN will not start more than 10 more NFL games ever, Write down I said that. I'd don't know what I'd rather, Pouha as our starting NT or Quinn at QB.

How is that fine by you?? Have you seen him play or his numbers? He's really bad. To have Mangini dump Brady Quinn on us would be like him pissing in the clubhouse.

Go Kellen Clemens!!!!! Throw the ball right at Quinn's face like Marsha in the brady bunch!
