Gainzo
I fly down to Baltimore & Philly about 10-12 times per year. I always take Southwest out of Manchester, NH as they are cheap and reliable. Well...........I'm going down to Baltimore this weekend for a wedding and Southwest's prices were very steep ($250+) so I booked a flight with AirTran our of Logan ($119). Sounds like a good deal right? Not so much. I just checked in for my flight tomorrow and AirTran is charging me $15 to check 1 bag. WTF is up with that? My $119 flight just became a $149 flight. Not to mention the pain in the arse of flying out of Logan. I haven't flown on United, USAir, American, Delta, etc in a couple of years and I know they charge for everyting but AirTran? Are you kidding me??

Gainzo
Ouch To be fair they are all losing money so its not like when your robbed at the pump and oil companies take baths in the profit... The thing is that Southwest is making money. As much as I call them a bus with wings they know how to get things done. They will be flying out of Logan in the Fall. That gives them Providence, Boston & Manchester. I believe the only other airline to post a profit last year was JetBlue. I may be wrong on that but apart from Southwest there was only one other to be profitable. Midwest maybe?

If you fold well, a quick iron to smooth a few creases works well. For short trips, I do my darndest to bring just one carry-on. The trick is to have a really large purse too. I can literally pack a weeks worth of clothing, footwear and tolietries in my carry-on and handbag. I have it down to a science.

I'm guessing you don't own a wool suit that was just picked up from the Dry Cleaners? I'm as good as they get when it comes to carry on bags but this situation needs a checked in bag. Either way, AirTran blows as does Logan.

I think it's because it's a mere 18 minute (depending on traffic) drive from my house now. The Big Dig was good for something. Providence is good too. That's an hour away though. I fly out of there sometimes if the flight is much cheaper. Have fun at the wedding!

Cheap and extremely reliable. They're smart, all their fleet are Boeing 737's. Mechanics and pilots are use to them, only need to stock spare parts for one type of plane so there's no mix ups there either.

Gainzo
dude, airtran is the suck, had them lose luggage more than once. Good luck with that ghetto airline. Pretty good call about AirTran. When I arrived in Baltimore it took 30 minutes for my $15 checked bag to show up. The flight crew treated us like we had never set foot on a flight before, the boarding process was ridiculous, and it was $6 if you wanted an adult beverage (I never drink while flying). And the kicker? The worst weekend of my life. The only good thing about the weekend was that I had the pleasure of meeting Art Donovan as the reception was at his place. FYI: Art Donovan was a key player for the Baltimore Colts back in the day. He wrote a book called "Fatso" that I read in High School. Art was drinking Schlitz out of a can. God bless him. He was a cool guy to meet.

Garb
I have a rant. If you are a fan of the visiting team during a playoff game - I have no issue with cheering for your team - but damn, don't be obnoxious! I was at the Celts game tonight (best BB game I've ever been to) and I 'm sitting twelve rows behind the Bulls bench. These four folks in front of me - all legit with these passes around their necks - suits and lap tops - and completely douchy. Anyway, I was clapping extra loud in retaliation, called Noah soft, ugly, goofy and loathsome. I also told my niece that just because you have blonde hair doesn't mean that a blonde mustache would be okay when she grows up enough to have such issues (she had no clue what I was talking about) - said as an insult to the female douche in the fourseome. Anyway, come to find out they were some Bulls front office dudes - and I think one was was the owner and his wife. My bad They were ridiculously obnoxious though. Thats why fans get their asses kicked on the road. They feel they need to be bigger dooshies than normal. Saw it Sunday at the Sox game. Seen it many times at Jets games. When Im watching my team on the road Im pretty calm, a hell of a lot more calm than at a home game. I do cheer when my team does well (score a td, hit a hr) but I dont go nuts over every play. Garb
Upon further review, although I know the three d-bags and d-baguette were somehow affiliated with the Bulls, I did not see them on the Bulls website. Further, two of the obnoxious schmucks I know I've seen on tv before. TNT, I think. Tall bald dude and an older dude who looks like a sharpei who smokes menthol cigarettes. I saw John Mayer outside the Garden - with some very pretty, young, dirty-blonde, jennifer aniston looking chick (well, without the man jaw thing going on). Anyway, she was balling her eyes out. This Mayer dude makes girls cry, eh?
