Why are feet so sensitive?

I was in socks and stepped on a battery.. Holy MF'r I saw stars.

Anyone else have insanely sensitive feet?

Um....yup. About five weeks ago I managed to step on a piece of glass - vertical - and it ended up deep into my heel....I hop to work thinking I'll manage and just go to the emergency room after my day was done (and yes, I tried to get it out on my own - to no avail). As soon as I got into work, I realized that there was no way in hell I could handle the pain, so I took a cab to Mass General. Xrays, pain, HUGE needle to numb the area, tetnus shot...it was probably the worst pain I have ever felt. That's what I get for running outside in my barefeet.

Well.. I think glass anywhere would hurt like heck!!! That story gave me the willies.

My feet are so sensitive that if I even brush into something, I'm jumping up & down.

whats worse though... stepping on something barefooted or stubbing your toe on a door or something???

i have a big black olive tree in my backyard and the branches have monster thorns.. and after stepping on them and having to pull them out of my feet like 10 times i refuse to go back there without sandels or shoes.... but i do enjoy pulling the thorns out of the bottom of my sandels.. i dont know why but its fun :)

V - it hurt like hell, the doctor scraping around it, then digging for it. I swore, squirmed and made her stop. She gets the attending to come in and convince me to get the shot - I saw the needle - about 2 inches long. They were going to inject me at the same spot the glass was in! I knew it would hurt. Freakin' doctor says it will sting for a very short instant. BULLSH*T! He leans his body on my legs as he adminsiters the shot (to keep me from moving from the PAIN!). I yell "what the phuck." It hurt like nobodies business....and for a lot longer than a freakin' instant.

Agreed Garb. In high school, I stepped on a rusty nail while tearing down an old desk. The nail ended up pushing a piece of my sock up into the wound. It got infected, badly, and they had to go in and get the piece of sock, and clean the wound.

Now I've been tasered, ran through the CS Gas chamber and pepper sprayed, and for the record I will state that the needle being placed into my foot to numb the area was by far, the most excruciating pain I've ever endured.......short of Doug Brien's missed FG against Pittsburgh. Seriously though, I was in so much pain, that I was literally trying to bend the frame of the gourney that I was lying down on.

That said, Verde you're being a whimp. TAKE THE PAIN :D

Trying to tough out a shard of glass in your foot?

You, Garb, are a cavewoman.
