Yeah, BB was going to trade up to get a wide reciever, it is huge position of need. Does anybody seriously believe the Patriots are going to be able to field a team if they need to rely on bums like Welker and Moss. Who the heck is Brady going to throw the ball to this year now that Harvin slipped away.

They are going to succeed because of the system. think of all the receivers they ended up letting go that were above average for the patriots and below average for their next team. The voices in your head are not a source. It would have taken a fifth round pick to move up and they did not. What does that tell you? They were not going to move up to a select Harvin. Like with Tate, I assumed they worked Harvin out in order to snag him if he dropped like a rock. I believe they will. It doesn't really matter who is on the Pats at any position. They are going to succeed because of the system. think of all the receivers they ended up letting go that were above average for the patriots and below average for their next team. Very true. 124
If we had taken Percy Harvin I would've quit being a Jet fan. The guy is right where he belongs in Minnesota where he'll have a nice Troy Williamson-esque career.

That is EXACTLY what Belichick does to Tannebaum when it comes to the draft and free agency. I'm with you in disliking Tannebaum's "trade up" strategy but honestly you have to admit the Jets have done a better job drafting in the past 3 years. Also, about Harvin, meh. Him and Sanchez were the two players I did not want. If they had traded up to get Harvin like they did with Sanchez I don't think I'd be able to stand it. Honestly I have nothing against Harvin but the thing is we need a real WR not a hybrid, not a rich man's Brad Smith. No clue why Tanny was drooling over him when we already have multi-purpose playmakers like Keller and Leon. We need a real stud WR.

Tate is better suited to line-up at FL or SE. One of the few knocks on Harvin is he has shown little ability to get off the line of scrimmage and route running. Tate can and at 6'1" he is a nice big target. As long as he comes back from injury, the Patriots will have their Harvin and one that can be a true wide receiver and not a hybrid that is not really a running back or receiver. PFSIKH
tate will probably be a PUP in 2009 I hope. I do not see him beating out Moss, Welker or Galloway. There is no reason to rush him back. PUP him and see what he looks like in Week 6. If he is healthy, get him in there. If not, IR him and see ya in 2010.

Belichick and Urban are buds. Even Harvin, who has been mentored and given tips by Belichick, loves him. Again, if the Patriots really wanted him they would have gotten him as they know the Vikings worked him out.
