Is There A Way To Record Cell Phone Conversations?

some kind of device or attachment or plan? My daughter, who works from home needs it for her job. When people call in she has to take down information and it would be so much easier if she could just hit record-anybody know? Otherwise she's locked in the house all day just taking calls and can't even go to the store or wherever.

FYI... I am sure you and her know this but incase you don't... I believe that she has a legal obligation to inform the other party that the call is being recorded.

Yes she does need to inform them and there is rules to that as well... make sure she finds the laws on it SFJ

Every state has different laws on this. In NY, I believe only one party has to know that the conversation's being recorded. In that case, it would be SFJ's daughter. Best to get your local facts, though.

Slats is correct as far as the State of NY goes. Click on the link below to look up your state.

12 states including Florida and California require that both parties know that the call is being recorded. The NY rules can only be followed if both the caller and the receiver are in NY state. If SoFla's daughter is in Florida she needs to inform every caller since it is Florida law. If she is in NY she needs to inform anybody she deals with from any of the 12 2-party states that the call is being recorded.

The best practice is to inform the other party unless she resides and works in a 1-party state and is 100% positive that the other party also resides in a 1-party state.
