Yankees vs. Red Sox @ Yankee Stadium

Recommended Posts

Ahh...the "hes a slow starter" excuse. 1-8-0 million dollars.

Teixiera has been a complete disaster so far. Time to stop sugar coating it.

The team, the Stadium have both been complete diasasters so far.

The Red Sox are so far and away a better team is sickening.

Hmmm...well the standings say they're one game apart, so I'm gonna go with that rather than your constant bitching, moaning and overreacting. Do you ever come here when the Yankees are WINNING?

The fact is the Yankees are one game behind your beloved Sawx on May 4 with their best player yet to play, their best pitcher yet to pitch like their best pitcher, and Wang giving away three games.

Are you guys seriously blaming this game on Hughes? Blame this game for the people who even got it started over TWO HOURS after it was supposed to.

Age has NOTHING to do with it. Get a clue. Years of experience does matter. 3 to 4 is a much smaller difference and the more realistic way of looking at things.

Age has nothing to do with it? That's the dumbest thing I've ever read.

Jon Lester has 3X the amount of career starts that Hughes does. Get a clue.

Posada injury will do us in this game... you want to use Matsui with Molina

Easy call to make, but rings true.

At least the top of the lineup after Berroa next inning.

LOL it would be funny if they pinch-hit Pena for Berroa.

Papelbon better get that WHIP down or his ERA's not going to keep matching it. Too bad they weren't the ones to take advantage cause they can't get a hit w/RISP to save their ****ing lives.

Papelbons fine . Save #7.

He can't maintain that ERA with that WHIP or by walking 7 people in 11 innings. If it stays, his ERA skyrockets.

Your really gonna start nit picking about a guy with only 8 hits allowed this season?

Stop the nonsense.

He has 10 hits allowed and 7 walks. Not the best recipe. The walks are the more troubling issue. He had 8 all of last year.

Why are you picking on a guy that is doing better than his Yankee equivalent?

Where are you trying to go with this?

That his sudden apparent lack of control could bode troubling in the near future. Whatever he's doing wrong by walking this many people this early, he needs to fix.

Joba is dominating aside from that first inning. Just need a little more offense and he'll do his part.

What Melky did wasn't really a bad play in hindsight, because the chances of Pena or Molina getting a hit to drive him in in that situation are slimmer than their chances of getting a sac fly, grounder to the right spot or a fluky situation. Just so happens that on the fluky situation Melky would've scored from second too.

Haha. Michael K is such a joke. An outstanding 5 innings from Joba? 4 runs in 5 innings is far form outstanding especially when you have an already taxed bullpen.

He had a bad inning. It happens. He has been dominant tonight. Anyone with 10 Ks in 5 innings usually is.

He has been dominant since the first inning. Not tonight. He had a bad outing by most considerations. And he's probably done after 5.

One bad inning doesn't make it a bad outing in my opinion. He rebounded back nicely--and dominantly--to keep his team in the game.

2 outs and he coulda put one in Tex's backside. He didn't. Moving on.

Nice counter.

But then he does throw at people.

Sweet Jesus, someone fire Girardi right now. How do you take out a pitcher who just had 8 straight Ks? Is there really that big a difference between 113 and 108 pitches?
