Borgoguy
I did see that and thought it was the one interesting moment on that abysmal attempt at an awards show. I was laughing my a$$ off. At first I thought it was Andy Samberg having a problem with his harness. Once I realized it was Cohen--as Bruno--I knew it was staged. Notice how Eminem overacts and his bodyguards don't really pummel Cohen. If that were a real event, those guys would have beaten him senseless before leaving. Alk
Completely staged. There's a reason why Eminem has only been in one movie and that was where he was playing himself. Just one big publicity stunt for both of them. If Eminem was genuinely pissed, for starters he would have been throwing punchs and not just sitting there. Second off, he would have stormed straight out of there, not stop three times for photo ops along the way.

DMaynard
If Eminem agreed to that for publicity, his career must be going pretty bad.

MasonJet
I think Cohen's one of the biggest tools in the industry. On the contrary he is easily one of the best actors around today. Yea this was a pretty lame stunt but the stuff he did for Da Ali G show was brilliant, even funnier than his movies.

LiLMiCKMANTLE
I think Cohen's one of the biggest tools in the industry. Say what you want. but you do have to give him credit for Borat. most of that movie was doen with one take and one take only. so he is a solid acter. and he was pretty funny in Taladaga Nights also.. phitzc
Bruno Stunt Was Staged by Mike Krumboltz On Sunday night, when Sacha Baron Cohen's alter-ego Bruno descended from the rafters and landed fanny-first on Eminem's head, most folks figured that the rapper's rage was the real deal. Suckers! Not only was Eminem in on the joke, he and Baron Cohen rehearsed it to make sure it would all go according to plan. Suspicions over the legitimacy of "butt-gate" had been brewing for days, but it wasn't until a writer for the MTV Movie Awards confessed that we all knew for sure. On his blog, head writer Scott Aukerman wrote that the incident was staged. "They rehearsed it at dress (rehearsal) and yes, it went as far as it did on the live show." Wow. Let it never be said that Eminem isn't a team player. According to the New York Daily News, Eminem wasn't Baron Cohen's first choice for the joke. That honor, which was tragically declined, went to Paris Hilton. Just imagine the buzz had that happened. Still, Eminem did a great job of selling the stunt considering he "may not have been briefed on just how naked Baron Cohen's flying 'Bruno' would be when he agreed." What a pro. Even before the writer's admission that the crash landing was planned, the searches had a suspicious slant. Throughout Monday, lookups on "was the eminem bruno stunt staged" and "eminem bruno joke" posted strong gains. Blogs, like this one from the Chicago Tribune, raised the possibility that the audience had just been played. Now that the joke has been confirmed, queries are surging on "bruno eminem fake stunt." We'd say we feel used, but we're too busy laughing. http://buzz.yahoo.com/buzzlog/92632/bruno-stunt-was-staged/
