124
Rodney Harrison Heading To NBC Posted by Mike Florio on June 2, 2009, 8:57 p.m. Veteran safety Rodney Harrison has decided to hang up the cleats and take a job with NBC, according to Christopher L. Gasper of the Boston Globe. Harrison worked with NBC as part of its Super Bowl XLIII coverage. Speculation had been intensifying lately that Harrison would be making the move. Harrison spent nine seasons with the Chargers and six with the Patriots.

Garb
***sigh**** My all time favorite Patriot, Troy Brown, retired last year. One of my top ten favorite Pats retires today. I LOVED RODNEY HARRISON as a Patriot. Knock 'em, sock 'em - heart and soul. I caught some of his work duirng these past playoffs and he was FANTASTIC. He will have a very successful broadcast career. I wish him nothing but the best and THANK HIM for being the player he was. Favorite Rodney moment: Playoffs - Pats/Indy Harrison has an int in the endzone to make Peyton Manning cry. Bergen Jet
Despite the fact that he crossed the line multiple times in his career he was a great player. He was a game changer who seemed to come up big in big spots. He was awesome at reading the offense and always seemed to be in the right place to make the big plays. He could also get to the QB when asked to do so and was in general a tough SOB. I wouldn't quite put his bust in Canton but I sure as hell would have loved to see a young Harrison in Jets green despite the dirty plays (some of which were indeed dirty... but IMO MOST were due to his intense playing style). Garb
I remember these wonderful exchanges: After the Pats won the AFC Championship 2003 - Rodney to BB: Hugs...."thank you, thank you for believing in me when no one else would."" After SB - BB to Rodney: "boy am I glad we got you." Rodney to BB: "thank you, thank you sir."
124
The play he will ALWAYS be remembered for, on top of being an HGH'er and a cheap shot artist. Good riddance.
Garb
The play he will ALWAYS be remembered for, on top of being an HGH'er and a cheap shot artist. Good riddance. He'll be remembered for that by Jets fans - same goes for Asante Samuel - but Pats fans will always love and cherish Rodney Harrison the player and the man. I honor him with my sig pic. Enjoy, Jest fans.
Gainzo
The play he will ALWAYS be remembered for He did everything he could on that play. If Asante Samuel didn't stand 3 yards away and actually made a hit, Harrison could have been a 3 time SB champ
Jbro22
If he just went for ball, instead of the big hit half of us would have jumped.

Gainzo
If he just went for ball, instead of the big hit half of us would have jumped. He did go for the ball. His eyes are on it and his right hand is touching it. What else could the guy have done? It was a sensational catch by Tyree.

I just rewatched the clip, your right he did everything he could of. For some reason in my mind I had him going for the big hit. Either way he got WORKED on a jump ball. It's called blame it on the guy who decided he didn't want to play here anymore when management decided they were too cheap to pay him what he's worth. I think, perhaps, Jets fans are bitter because when a player of theirs retires (who is not named Namath) there is no fanfare. Heck, I heard that the CuMart halftime ceremony was a sham and a shame. Kleck - you're slipping. Usually your bull is strong enough that many a moron follows you - but your latest is a huge failure. I think I'm disappointed. Harrison has suffered two serious injuries in succession. Its unlikely he would last another season after the last injury at his age and the way he plays the game. Kerry Rhodes couldnt carry Harrisons lunch box.

RutgersJetFan
Blaming Samuel for that play is flat out ridiculous, Harrison did everything short of putting him in the camel clutch in order to get the ball out of his hands, and has stated so repeatedly. The dude just made a great play, and it's nobody's fault but Tyree's. The fact that Pats fans are assigning blame to one of their own for that catch rather than just giving credit where it's due is so typical of Boston fans. Stay classy Beantown.
