I just quickly jotted notes down, sorry if it seems confusing.

REX RYAN INTERVIEW RECAP

You have to have at least two good backs in this league, we had three in Baltimore, we have three here...

I'm not going to be in involved in the offense like someone like Mike Shannahan, Andy Reid, etc. -- I won

I do love the mentality and words that come from his mouth.; And before someone jumping on me for criticising Rhodes and praising Ryan for basically doing the same thing: Unlike Rhodes, Ryan knows what good defense is all about. If he believes it, I believe him. Rhodes on the other hand has yet to be a part of a good NFL defense. Until he is, shut it!

I gotta give props to Rex as he is laying it all out on the table. I've never seen anyone this brash before coaching his 1st game as an HC.

He is getting me fired up!

I think he's a moron. Can't wait to kick his a@@. :)

Now I see why New Zealand is the most "peaceful" place....you and StillerPaul hanging out again?

Rexy sounds awesome. One thing though, if we are going to run the ball 40 times a game, why the heck did we take a QB in the first round? Not saying that I don't like the Sanchez pick, because I love it, I love we didn't give too much up for it, and I think Sanchez is going to be great. But, if we wanted a game managing QB we already had one.

That is why. They just don't expect him to be great his rookie year. Just good enough to win with running and defense. I think that is a good plan, rather than expect too much from a rookie, no matter who he is.

Because you need a Quarterback who can not only manage a game but when the run isn't working, you need that Quarterback to be capable to put that team on his back and lead them to where they need to go. The most important position on the field, no matter what kind of Offensive system you run, is the Quarterback. Hands down. If you don't have a Quarterback that you can rely on, I don't care who you have in the backfield or out wide.

You need a leader at the position.

Ryan & Co. obviously feel that he is the leader that they are looking for and that he will do great things for us. I hope so.

:rl::rl: I kinda like the guy but the fact that he had to single out Belichick tells me that Bill is already in his head and they haven't even played a game yet.

Did they ask him specifically about BB tho? I'm at work so I can't hear the interview, but I don't think he would just blurt his name out without being asked about the Patriots.

Well no **** Sherlock... they have been the best team in the NFL since '01 and they happen to be in the same division as the Jets. You should be happy if Belly WASN'T in his head, that would make him a retard and oblivious.

Francessa was the one who started talking about the Patriots. Ryan followed it with those quotes about them. Francessa brought up the Patriots dominance and attacking them.

So, sorry Alk, your team isn't in his head.

Yep, Francesca specifically asked Rex about the Patriots.

Francesca said, essentially, that you [Rex] came into this division that has been dominated by the Patriots. It's all about the Pats. Something along those lines.

And, Alk, of course everyone will talk about the Pats when it comes to the AFC East. Only the idiot Fin fans think that their team should be discussed as the team to beat.

Regardless of what was asked, did he really think it was a good idea to go out and seek Belichick's attention like that? I can hardly wait for Belichick's response...oh that's right, there won't be a response.

The beauty of it, Alk, is that Rex doesn't give a ****.

That's the point. Rex doesn't care what Belichick thinks, that's why he said what he said.

What's Belichick going to do? Mumble something harsh? Rex doesn't care. Belichick could be dismissive or be upset, it's irrelevant to Rex. That's the point.

Amazing how something as simple as a coach who runs his mouth can boost the ego of an entire fanbase. :rl:

Stop doing this [:rl:] for every single post.

Rex is not just "running his mouth".

He has given this team, organization, and fans a feeling of confidence. An IDENTITY. A breath of fresh air - all so important after Mangini running the show.

:rl: It would make a lot more sense to give that feeling of confidence on the field. He talks the talk but if they get blown off the field in week one, this is Mangini all over again.

You're right. I can't wait until week 1 where we march into Houston and take them by storm with our dominant defense, good coaching scheme, good running game, and our rookie QB.

Then we beat the **** out of the Golden Boy in week 2.
