124
http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/jets/ Dolphins bite back at Rex June 5, 2009 It's only June, and we're already gathering bulletin-board material for the upcoming season, thanks to Rex Ryan. As you know, Ryan isn't shy about expressing his opinions. His latest headline-making quote came Wednesday in a radio interview, when he said, "I didn't come to New York to kiss Bill Belichick's rings." Well, that quote, along with a lot of other Ryan quotes, have made it down to South Florida. Earlier today, speaking at a team function, Dolphins LB Channing Crowder had this to say about Ryan's "swagger-licious" attitude (a Bart Scott description). "Oh, he's going crazy," Crowder told Ethan Skolnick of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. "He's going absolutely nuts. I know it's his first chance to be a head coach, and I know he's excited about life. But, like I said, I've never played a football game in June in my whole life. So congratulations to him. He's the OTA, the OTA Super Bowl winner." Good stuff. Juicy stuff. The AFC East won't be boring this season, not with D. Rex in New York, Tom Brady back in New England, T.O. in Buffalo and Chad & Co. in Miami, defending their division title.
T0mShane
http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/jets/ He's a douche, but not entirely wrong. If Rex doesn't win here, and quick, he will be remembered as a loud-mouthed buffoon--a dime-store Jerry Glanville.
Arsis
Rex is a loud mouth buffoon. Hopefully he is a loud mouth buffoon who can win 10 or 12 super bowls.

DMaynard
Ryan can be meek and mild and reserved and low keyed and if he doesn't win, he will still get killed here. F them all. Don't change a thing Rex. We love ya.
JohnnyHector
Without getting into Ryan and his bravado, what the **** has Channing Crowder ever accomplished, aside from looking like an uneducated nitwit when he was shocked to find out that they spoke English in London? TNJet
Channing obviously had forgotten Favre handed them their AFC title last season didnt he? Sit Favre and we beat them by 2 touchdowns again lol! Yeah, keep being brass Dolphins, you were sooo much the better team with Brady out in NE,and Favre crumpling down the stretch in NY...
RutgersJetFan
Maybe it's just me, but dudes with the name Channing just sound silly if they talk trash. Channing Crowder, Channing Frye, Chad Channing, Channing Tatum...it just doesn't work.
SMC
And let's not forget that Channing Crowder didn't know people in England spoke English. He said such in an interview when the Fins were going to play in London.
Gagoots
What he's doing is trying to get the Jets to play a Ferocious, don't give a **** kind of style like they did in Baltimore. Nothing more.

Greenseed3
It's June, and the Jets and Patriots have a buzz about them. Not the defending AFCE champs This is the first I've heard out of South Beach all off-season.

He said such in an interview when the Fins were going to play in London. dang, beat me to it. He later claimed it was a joke. If Rex doesn't win here, and quick, he will be remembered as a loud-mouthed buffoon--a dime-store Jerry Glanville. That is not necesscary true. Rex has been like that his entire career of coaching. He got it from his dad, and I think that's how he will be if he was coaching the Lions.
SMC
Wont he still get ripped for making all these promises and not delivering? He'll get ripped either way, so it doesn't matter. Also, talk is cheap, but everyone talks. Remember when Tom Brady scoffed at the Giants' claim that they would keep the almighty Pats offense under 17 points in the SB? #27TheDominator
Bulletin board material is for pussies. Rex wants teams to be scared of the D. Teams will be thinking about it. Whether it works or not, just be yourself. Rex is a loudmouth blowhard, he'll win or lose as a loudmouth blowhard. Fine with me.

DMaynard
Wont he still get ripped for making all these promises and not delivering? Mangini certainly wasn't the type to make any promises and they are not exactly erecting statues in his honor now for having set low expectations. Pyper
I think Little Rex is just taking cues from the fanbase. Jets fans have been at this routine for at least the last 10 years or so. It's the same thing every year. March - August: This is the Jets fan's favorite time of year. He gets to declare his team's greatness and explain why they're the best team in the division. September-February: These are the months when the games are played and coincidentally the time of year when the Jets fan is most miserable. Then March comes along, the team fires their coach and replaces yet another QB and the Jets fan gets another six months to crow how great they're going to be.
