F.Chowds
And so it Begins Seymour, Adalius, Jarvis Green, are all up for new contracts in the next 2 years as well Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff June 8, 2009 05:15 PM Patriots nose tackle Vince Wilfork could lose $500,000 if he does not show up for the team's mandatory minicamp this week, a league source told the Boston Globe today. The $500,000 figure is tied to forfeiture language in the collective bargaining agreement and Wilfork's contractual status. Wilfork won't automatically lose the $500,000 if he does not show up, but that figure would be at risk if the Patriots decide to pursue it per the language in the CBA. The rich sum could be a factor in Wilfork's decision-making on whether to attend the mandatory minicamp, which is scheduled for Wednesday-Friday. Wilfork, who is unhappy with his contract situation and has stayed away from voluntary organized team activities, was present at the team's Charitable Foundation golf tournament today at The International in Bolton. Wilfork was a guest on the "Dale & Holley Show" on sports radio WEEI and said: "It’s nothing personal towards the organization, it’s nothing personal towards my coaches or anything like that ...It’s not the first time a player has gone through a contract negotiation problem. So I try to stay positive and at the same time do what’s best for me and my family. At the end of the day, that’s what matters to me.”
