gg
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4246757 The Minnesota Vikings have at least temporarily suspended their pursuit of Brett Favre after the retired quarterback failed to report to organized team activities that began Tuesday as head coach Brad Childress had mandated, according to team and league sources. The Vikings conveyed their decision in a phone call from vice president of football operations Rob Brzezinski to Bus Cook, the agent who represents Favre. An eventual agreement returning Favre to the NFL for a 19th season, this in a Vikings purple uniform, remains possible. The quarterback was encouraged to continue rehabilitation following arthroscopic surgery performed two weeks ago to repair a partially torn biceps tendon. According to sources, no timeframe has been discussed for the Vikings and Favre to reconsider their positions. ESPN reported Monday that Childress had established a deadline of this week for Favre to make his decision. Favre declined to make a commitment because he remains uncertain that the surgery has been completely successful. Ed Werder covers the NFL for ESPN. Larz
this article is totally ****ed up how could he have "failed to report" to OTA's if he isn't even under contract ? am I missing something ?
SMC
Yeah, Larz, it's idiotic. Favre is not physically able to perform after surgery and is still retired. There was no way he could actually "report" until he is reinstituted by the NFL.

Boozer76
Haha, "Childress" set the deadline for the end of this week. As if Childress has any say in the matter what so ever.

#27TheDominator
Well, if it's true Childress has done something I didn't think possible. He has made Favre and Bus Cook seem calm, reasonable and sane during negotiations. I never heard of a player being expected to appear at OTA's when they are 1. retired; 2. not the property of the team they are "supposed" to report to; and 3. injured, coming off a very recent surgery. LOL So true. And, by the way, does anyone know if a retired player is even allowed to participate in a team's OTA? Doesn't he have to be re-instated to do any team activities? BroadwayJ667
I believe Pat Kirwan when he says he's gonna be a Viking. Lets not post any Favre news here until he actually becomes a Viking. Because really all ESPN is doing is creating stories for the sake of something to talk about
