My Sisters Keeper

So, I went away for a nice long weekend this past weekend - forgot to bring a book so I picked up "My Sisters Keeper" at Hudson News at Logan Airport. Real page-tuner: family drama, medical drama, legal wrangling, ethics, morals, human failures, victims of circumstance and unwavering love. I just finished it. The author's (Jodi Picoult) words and style flow gracefully as you turn page after page...and then BAM! She hits you between the eyes! She actually hits you all novel long - but then she just destroys you. I am not ashamed to admit I cried - REALLY CRIED - all through the last chapter. Anyway, I refuse to see this flick. There is no way it can beat what I just experienced. I highly recommend this book - even to you heartless bastards.

Sounds good. Have you ever read "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" ? It's not so much a bawler as it is a touching and melancholic read..

No - but I like touching (shuddup, Borgo) and melancholic. I'll check it out.

I think women like to cry. Thats why they watch mushy movies and Oprah.

Agreed. Women love to cry, weep, sob and tell you they should have left you years ago especially after that time when you got drunk on the Christmas 0f 1996 and she caught you fondling her cousin's breasts in the bathroom, even though you apologised like sixteen times since and how were you supposed to know her cousin was actually a boy with gynecomastia anyway?! huh. women.
