hoping4ASuperBowl
I wish I watched him play but I was too young to care about football yet. I guess I would have to say Peyton Manning.

newjakecity
I know I'll get killed for this, but I would say Manning and Favre. Although both only won one super bowl, these two quarterbacks were the difference between their teams being a perennial contender and a below average team. I was too young to see Montana play (by the time I got to be a teenager and really starting following football, he was almost done). Marino and Elway also were on the decline as well (though both were very good even at that time).
Jethead
Elway is tops in my book.
PatriotReign37
Johnny Unitas was smartest I ever saw at game management I've heard the same thing. Plus, he called all his own plays and defenses used to murda da QB's in those days.

Bergen Jet
:smilies2_puke:Marino:curse: If you saw Marino you obviously saw Montana and Brady... both of which were far superior QBs. I would also take Elway, Manning and maybe even Favre over Marino.
Jets Babe
Well I was born in '88, and when I was 6, Joe Montana retired. I do consider Montana to be the greatest QB of all time, but the best QB that I actually watched was this guy:
SoFlaJets
Montana, Unitas, Starr, Bradshaw, Staubach-all greats...Joe Namath DID have his moments and had the greatest game I ever saw passing-oh yea you have to put Marino on any list

nj meadowlands
I think this is more fun when you qualify the question with who you've seen live, at the stadium. One time I made a list of the best I've seen play live, and I would say the top looks like... Joe Montana Brett Favre John Elway Peyton Manning Tom Brady Dan Marino Warren Moon Jim Kelly Troy Aikman Browning Nagle
CTM
Best passer was Marino.. Best QB was Montana
SMC
Montana. The key for me is that with these great 1980s defenses throughout the NFC, the key strategy to beat the Niners in the playoffs was to knock Montana out of the game.

PFSIKH
Best passer was Marino.. Best QB was Montana +1 Agree 110%. Marino and Elway were physical specimens with cannon arms, but Montana and Brady would be the QBs I want under center with the game on the line. Stronso
Well - I am going to take this over 2 directions Greatest game you ever saw a QB play in person - Boomer Esiason for the Cards v. Vicious89x
I would take Brady and Brees over Manning all day. That is because they're infinitely better looking. I can see your point on Brady, but Brees I disagree with. Also, Manning gets points for being awesome on SNL.

Irish Jet
Brady Not even close. Manning is second, but Brady's playoff performances against even the best defenses before he had great WR's put him well ahead of Peyton.
