Johanna Ganthaler of Italy arrived late at Rio de Janeiro airport on May 31, according to the Web site.

The jet was on its way from Rio to Paris when it flew into heavy storms and plunged into the Atlantic Ocean. All 228 passengers are presumed dead. Bad weather hampered the search for bodies and debris today, the Associated Press reported.

Ganthaler caught a flight from Brazil the next day and died in a collision in Austria, the ANSA news agency reported.
