JETSorDIE
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4253231 Quarterback Michael Vick's time with the Atlanta Falcons is officially over. Vick, who is serving the remainder of his prison sentence on dogfighting charges under house arrest in Virginia, was released Friday. "We feel his best opportunity to re-engage his football career would be at another club," Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff said in a statement. "Our entire organization sincerely hopes that Michael will continue to focus his efforts making positive changes in his life and we wish him well in that regard." The Falcons have been trying to trade Vick for months, but found no takers. Instead of holding onto him and hoping someone stepped forward with a trade, the Falcons apparently decided to put the Vick situation behind them. Vick, who completes his 23-month sentence on July 20 for running a dogfighting ring, has yet to be reinstated by the NFL. Commissioner Roger Goodell has said he has yet to consider reinstating Vick, but wants to see signs of remorse from him before allowing his return. Falcons owner Arthur Blank had said months ago that he supported the idea of Vick returning to the NFL, but not with Atlanta. The Falcons have moved on after drafting quarterback Matt Ryan, who went on to become the Offensive Rookie of the Year last season. Vick, who was drafted by Atlanta in 2001 as the No. 1 pick, last played for the Falcons in 2006. He's indicated he wants to return to football and there have been indications the new four-team United Football League is interested in having him if Vick is not reinstated by the NFL. Vick will still cost the Falcons $6.4 million in salary cap space. hoping4ASuperBowl
+ 1 Lets cut Matt Sanchez and let Keller Clemens back him up! We might need more cap to make that happen. So lets cut Jenkins while were at it and just pencil in Pouha as the starter.

Someone probably will. All it takes is one. I never liked him, and never understood the Falcons giving him that $100M contract in the first place. I also agree that if he's willing to swallow his pride, the CFL could be excellent for him. He could be the black Doug Flutie! Compared to Doug, he might actually be big! The wide open field would be good for his vision and his running ability. He could probably lead that league in rushing! It'd be a smarter move for him than the UFL, IMHO, who's actively pursuing him.

He'll be lucky if any one of the 32 teams in the NFL give him a shot. He's really not an NFL caliber QB. Great athlete, great speed, and a moron, but not an NFL QB. He could be a star in Canada, though.

I'm not sure if he still is or ever will be but the guy could win a team games. Like Pennington he can dominate against weaker defenses only he can do it almost single-handedly. Like Pennington though, he's limited and always stuggled against better D's. His passing was never great but it wasn't Vince Young bad either. I never liked him as a QB and I doubt he'll be a starter again, but he could still be a useful player, he was one of the most elusive athletes I'd ever seen in the NFL, regardless of position. I gaurantee he'll be playing in the NFL come September.
