This article has the right perspective.

This criticism is waaay off base. All the guy said was he wasn't here to kiss Belichick's rings. What is wrong with that? He's the head coach of the New York Jets. Newsflash to every pantywaste sportswriter like Mike Freeman out there: RYAN'S JOB IS TO BEAT BELICHICK, NOT KISS HIS ASS YOU WHINY PUSSIES!!!

Would these idiots prefer he offer to blow the guy? I mean, am I taking crazy pills here? What does Ryan owe Belichick?

Kleck and Thor, not that the Judge & Freeman articles are point-counter-point articles.

Thus, as you know, they are there to present opposing views on a subject. I agree with Judge's view, but we can't be surprised by Freeman's. It's going to be out there. It's expected.

My point is I don't understand what the big deal is about. Ryan didn't say anything that I personally find controversial at all.

His job is to coach the New York Jets. He was asked a specific question about the Pats and Belichick and he answered it honestly. What was he supposed to say?

Kleck, I agree with you and I think Freeman's points are idiotic. But they were expected.

Well, if Freeman saw this forum, as much as JN whines and labels a reporter/player an idiot when even a hint of disrespect is directed at the Jets.

He would see the irony that you find it ok when one of their own is disrespectful and talking $hit.

rex is having an off-season somewhere in between his father and jerry glanville. i really hope this team can play but freeman is right about not running your mouth until you at least win 1 game, let alone 1 championship.

Except he's not running his mouth!!! I feel like I am taking ****ing crazy pills!

He made one fairly innocuous comment and Channing "I'm the world's biggest *****" Crowder and the media are running with it like he threatened Belichick's family.

In many ways he is the Ocho Cinco of the coaching world. He has ran his mouth more than any coach I can recall and he is rookie.

Is that a bad thing? Depends on your persective. I happen to find Ocho Cinco quite entertaining, and football after all is entertainment. Ocho Cinco is a more entertaining WR than Larry Fitzgerld. Dennis Rodmann was a more entertaining basketball player than Micheal Jordon. And Rex Ryan's pressers are more entertaining than Bill Belichick's.

He is gotten into a pissing contest with the linebackers on the Dolphins and tried to engage BB into one as well. He is Ocho Rexo! Up to you if you want to consider that a complement or insult.

I didn't bother reading the article, but...

It's an amateur move for a head coach to get into a trash talking spat in the press with a player from another team. I realize some fans might love it, especially after three years of Mangini, but it's borderline childish. Hell, it probably crosses the line.

If he and his team back it up, then he can yap all he wants AFAIC. But if this team struggles, he's going to have a lot of his words shoved back in his face. NY loves a brash winner, but has no problem tearing a brash loser to shreds. He's either setting the bar, or he's setting himself up. Only time will tell.

Watch the videos, he is clearly joking.
