Interesting. Wasn't there some bad blood when Szott left? Or did he just retire and there was no replacement?

No. The exact opposite, really.

The Jets really bent over backwards to accommodate Szott while he played here. Giving him a lot of time off during the week to be with his son, who has cerebral palsy. He moved to NJ before signing with the Jets to have his son attend a special school, and only played football those last few years because one of the Jersey teams signed him.

I imagine he'll be a part of the team for life.
