SouthernJet
Ghostbusters Sequel A GO! As we first mentioned last year, Columbia Pictures hired the exec producers from The Office to write a Ghostbusters reunion movie. Ghostbusters III! And rumors were the original cast might be making a return to the flick. Well, it's happening! In a new interview, Dan Aykroyd confirms that he Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Harold Ramis, and even Sigourney Weaver are on board for the third movie. According to Aykroyd, production might even begin as early as this winter. As for the film's plot, it'll deal with the aging, original Ghostbusters getting ready to retire and pass on the responsibilities of protecting NYC over to a new crew, with maybe a female or two this time helping to capture the ghosts. Can't wait. Are U excited to watch this flick?
JoeC36
i had heard that not only would they original cast be returning but the men they would be passing the torch too would be the guys from the 40 year old virgin. Steve Carrell, Seth Rogan, Paul Rudd, and Romany Malco. Is there any truth to that from what youve heard SJ. And could it be possible that Elizabeth Banks could be the women? Borgoguy
I think the first one is a classic. The second, sucked, IMO. Why make a third, which will--most likely--be a turd?

Why make a third, which will--most likely--be a turd? only way 3rd one is good , is if former starts play minor parts to hand over reins to next crew,,but that crew would have to be killer cast.. They cant risk looking like last shatner star trek films where it was laughable with age/weight.. i like the rogen/rudd rumor as that may be only way ot make this viable, aka new star trek film.. SouthernJet
to be honest i think paul rudd way under -rated.. I have him in category now as 'If he is in to , I go see it'.. Plus A jersey boy nad a kansas boy,,alk, take notice "Rudd was born in Passaic, New Jersey, the son of Jewish immigrants from England;[1][2][3] his family's original surname was "Rudnitzky".[4] His father Michael was a historical tour guide who was formerly the vice president of World Airways, while Rudd's mother, Gloria, was a sales manager at television station KSMO-TV.[5][6] He was raised in Overland Park, Kansas. He attended high school at Shawnee Mission West, and college at the University of Kansas, where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity.[7]"

I just wish Hollywood would seek out the new story ideas, rather than rehashing old ones. Ghost Busters worked because of when it opened. Now? It'll just look goofy, no matter who's in it. It'll just look goofy, no matter who's in it. to be honest, they do for most part.. problem is they are independents that each studio owns , but under a smaller company name..they have to make these rehases or cgi shiit stories for kids to make money to fund the other works.. Its like when u see a great actor in a POS then see them in a few Indies,,they are makin money in the POS so they can do the low budget Indies,, seriosuly, go to your local Indie theater for great movies

Other than to take my son to one of his more mainstream films, I try to stay in the Indie realm.

SMC
I think the first one is a classic. The second, sucked, IMO. Why make a third, which will--most likely--be a turd? I agree, especially with that plot. I hope that plot is scrapped. I could see a GBIII working if it's done right. The good thing about the 1st one was that it played off reality to make the absurd seem plausible. Would the Ghostbusters really have been in business for nearly 25 years? It would be better if the Ghostbusters had disbanded after 5 years because there's no more need for their services. They go off into obscurity. No one really remembers them. Now, 20 years later after everyone has forgotten about them, they re-unite to face a new spectral menace. That opens up a new line of jokes about them being dated, their equipment is old-and-beat up, doesn't work, etc.
