Who Has the Best O-Line? Giants or Jets?

I don't think it's really that close. The Giants probably have the best oline in the league and the Jets are not in the top 5.

The Jets are easily in the Top 5, but when you look at LG-C-RG, the Jets and Giants are dead even. The problem comes down to Diel/McKenzie vs Ferguson/Woody. That is where the Giants blow us and everyone else out of the water.

That's my point; you're too weak at tackle to be in the top 5. I'm not saying the Jets line isn't good, it's very good, but there are five lines I'd take over the Jets'.

How exactly?

Woody was as good as any RT in the league last season. he's unbelievably strong in run blocking.

D'Brick too is developing into an elite Left Tackle. He really improved his run blocking and he's great in pass protection.

Jets line is the BEST in the NFL.

Also, Mangold blows any other Center in football out of the water.

We arn't that weak at tackle. Both of our tackles are Top 10 in the league at LT/RT, our middle 3 easily makes up for it. And please, I know you are going to put Miami in there, but please just stop right there. No way is Miami up there. After Long, its a bunch of scrubs.

Seiously, the Jets tackles are VERY good. Woody is ridiculously underrated, as is Brick.

D'Brick is a horrible run blocker, pretty good pass protector, but nothing special. As for Woody, as good as any other RT in the NFL? Keep dreaming. Kareem McKenzie has held that title for quite some time and will continue to do so. We never should have let him go.

As for Mangold, he is in the same conversation as Shaun O'Hara. Mangold rates O'Hara as the only center better than him, actually.

I'm not putting Miami in the top 5 but you couldn't be more wrong calling them scrubs. There isn't a left tackle I'd take over Jake Long in the NFL right now. He's already top 3 in the league and is just a sophomore.

Vernon Carey is a damn good right tackle, Justin Smiley was excellent when healthy last year and Jake Grove fits what we want to do perfectly. The only position I have a slight concern over is right guard. I'd say we're about the 10th best line in the league.

And Ferg and Woody are in the 9-10 range if they're in the top 10.

Clearly Chad Pennington could take those hits and make that throw to Santonio Holmes.

:rl:

Feel free to plug in some 2008 Miami tape. Chad got knocked down a ton last year. He hung in there and made some fantastic throws while getting drilled.

Once again, here you guys are laughing at me while I'm laughing at you because we won and all you can hang your hat on is excuses.

Mangold is being modest. He's unbelievably good.

I know guys who post on NFLUK.com, very knowledgable NFL fans and they rank players in how they play individually, they study every player with every play and judge by how they play instead of going by stats.

These aren't Jet fans either.

Look at where Mangold is ranked compared to other Centers:

As for Brick? He's not horrible at anything and an elite Pass Protecter.

Woody? The guy was great last season. Look at the #'s posted by the OP. These guys have done their research. He was brilliant for us.

Brick and Woody > Long

Heck I'd take Vernon Carey over him.

Yes AquaTroll, you are certainly on top of things when it comes to Football.

I'm not the troll; I did not hijack the thread. Someone starts a thread, I put in my two cents, and then all the Jets fans turn it into a Miami/Chad Pennington thread. I never do it.

You won when Tom Brady went down and you won how many playoff games? Oh yeah, thats right. :rl:

And please, you just said Jake Long is in the Top 3 of LT's of the league and then are going to tell me that Pennington took around the same amount of hits that Big Ben took?

Seriously?

Dude, at least keep your arguments on track instead of making up bull****.

You need to realize that nobody around here cares that you won the AFC East. All that matters is winning Championships or at least advancing in the postseason, not getting your arse handed to you at home on national television. Nobody cares though.

You remind us all of Jet fans who jerked off when we won the division in 2002, like seriously, who cares? Its a division championship. What happened after that? Well at least that 02 Jet team advanced 1 round.

Are you on drugs? Ferguson is horrible at run blocking. Anyone who tells you otherwise isn't watching the games or when the backs run behind him. He is certainly not an elite Pass Protector either. He is middle of the line. He is in the Top 10 because there are so many crappy LT's in the NFL.

Woody was good, but he wasn't anything amazing. Kareem McKenzie is by far the best RT in the league. Stacy Andrews, at RT in Philly, will be #2 to McKenzie.

Please tell me that you're joking.

You're the one who still in every single thread you chime in on is beating his chest about the mighty AFC East Championship the year Tom Brady isn't playing. Congrats! You guys were the best team for the 1 year Brady wasn't playing! Bravo!

Then you go off and call us dicks. Stop being a dick when you come over here, I do not act as dickish over at ThePhins as you do here. You are a much better poster over there, you don't have to talk about a meaningless division title in every thread over there.

Yep. The Jets had to deal with Tom Brady while the Dolphins didn't. I hear ya'. That excuse is getting really tired.

The left tackle isn't the only guy responsible for keeping guys off the quarterback, buddy. And I never said he took AS MANY hits as Ben. Damn, you put a lot of words in people's mouths. You need to work on your debate tactics. Presumptions are not your friend.

Well it means we are better than you; that is all.

I honestly question you man.

You need to stop drinking at Jet games.

See your post quoting me. You brought it up, dude. I will always refute it when you bring it up, but you insisted on brigning the Dolphins into this when I had no intentions of discussing them.

they weren't the best team, they just got lucky one year. let's see how long that luck lasts.

Its not an excuse, its the reality. Tom Brady missed the entire season, the Dolphin were able to take advantage of that and a weak last placed schedule.

You are not better than us. One season doesn't prove anything. If you can come out this year and actually beat us twice (which you havn't done since 2003) and finish better than us, THEN you can say you're better. Consistency is key my friend.

And you're claiming Pennington took some amazingly hard hits. Good for him. Big Ben probably took the amount of amazingly hard hits Pennington took in the entire season every single time he stepped out onto the field. He was behind one of the Bottom 5 Offensive Lines in the NFL.

You are dead wrong.

I can't wait to shut your mouth this season. We own you. One December game means nothing.
