Lil Bit Special
The Education Audit The Count ranked every ballclub by its education. Players who earned college degrees got twice the points as players who just attended. Starting players were weighted more heavily, as were players who attended elite schools. Managers were also included in the formula.* HIGHEST GRADES LOWEST GRADES Oakland (32 pts.)Atlanta (4) Tampa Bay (31)Texas (12) Arizona (31)Cincinnati (13) Boston (31)Florida (14) Toronto (30)KC/LAA (tie, 15) * - Includes each player who made at least one appearance through June

Guido Monzino
Pretty dumb article. How is completed education a measure of intelligence, especially among a group of professional athletes that either didn't require an education or didn't have any motivation to get a serious one because of their other ability? talisaynon
Pretty dumb article. How is completed education a measure of intelligence, especially among a group of professional athletes that either didn't require an education or didn't have any motivation to get a serious one because of their other ability? this. in essence, this is saying there is no correlation between players who finish college and skill level. Guido Monzino
this. in essence, this is saying there is no correlation between players who finish college and skill level. no, that has nothing to do with it. what it tells me about intelligence is zero. there may well be several highly intelligent players who never went to or finished college because they happened to be excellent ballplayers. on the other side of the coin, we know there are plenty of athletes that "graduate" with college degrees that can barely spell their own names. NJ
I know it's baseball and not football - but Eric Mangini would have to be on the list because he's that smart. No - he really is.
PFSIKH
Pretty dumb article. How is completed education a measure of intelligence, especially among a group of professional athletes that either didn't require an education or didn't have any motivation to get a serious one because of their other ability? Figures the Skank fan does not grasp the concept. Look at the proposed smartest teams. Oakland - Despite economic disadvantages, field a competitive teams and have advanced further in the playoffs then the Yanks in recent years. Arizona - 2001. Have won a WS and advanced to the CS in their league. Boston - After almost 9 decades of ineptitude, have won more titles and look to be a far more solid club then for the near future then the Yanks. Tampa - Despite a payroll that is usually a seventh of the Yanks, are have a far more formidable starting pitching, have advanced to the WS and look to be a team of the now versus the Yankees team of yester year. Toronto - A team, based in Canada, usually a death knell, remains competitive in the toughest division in baseball. Baltimore - Ok, there is always an exception to the rule although they have looked better then recent years. Outside of Seattle and Washington, there is little argument that the teams ahead of the Yankees are better run. It is the Skanks economic advantages that keep them.........in the running but few would say they are a favorite for the title or well run. If MLB had the same system as the NFL, the Yankees would be the Skins or Boyz. A lot of money spent but little bang for the buck. A billon dollar franchise is being run by the 17th smartest organization. Seriously?

It's just seeing if there is any correlation between number of college degrees on a team and their total win percentage. You cannot use their past to judge these numbers as it's based on this year. With that said, the most accurate representation is win record this year. Using past performance is absolutely silly and shows you don't even understand what this is testing for.
