Otter 27,367 #6 Posted June 30, 2009 I picked the right week to start the series threads. I'm sure the time will come when my threads bring the Yankees bad luck. When it does, I will gracefully walk away. No coup or banning will be necessary.

Otter 27,367 #11 Posted June 30, 2009 The Yankees just traded for Eric Hinske. From Mark Feinstand's Twitter... "Yankees acquire Eric Hinske from Pirates for minor leaguers Casey Erickson and Eric Fryer. Hinske will be in uniform tonight."

Bob 158,598 #16 Posted July 1, 2009 Put Hughes in the rotation and make Joba a one inning pitcher - the 8th.

Otter 27,367 #19 Posted July 1, 2009 Put Hughes in the rotation and make Joba a one inning pitcher - the 8th. I agree 100%. The guy throws way too many pitches. Hopefully this starting experiment hasn't screwed him up.

PS17 81,920 #24 Posted July 1, 2009 Clueless Joe strikes again. Why TF would you bring in Bruney with Hughes just having an easy 9-pitch inning? At least we have the lead now.
Otter 27,367 #25 Posted July 1, 2009 Bats finally came through in the bottom of the 8th. Bruney has been a bit off since coming back. I'd love to see Joba in that spot.
Bob 158,598 #26 Posted July 1, 2009 Clueless Joe strikes again. Why TF would you bring in Bruney with Hughes just having an easy 9-pitch inning? At least we have the lead now. Yep. The hitters won the game despite Clueless Joe.
LionelRichie 10,072 #27 Posted July 1, 2009 Yep. The hitters won the game despite Clueless Joe. i don't understand why a team needs to have an "8th inning" guy. hughes is probably throwing the ball the best of any reliever at this point, why not take the 'hot hand' approach? piney 6,704 #30 Posted July 1, 2009 Does anyone else find this amusing? Ross Ohlendorf 7 IP, 0 ER Joba Chamberlain 5 inning pitcher as usual... no no no Joba has ace stuff...he is a front of the rotation starter...how can you question the all powerful Joba? Let's see, dominate in one job....lets move him So-so in another job, future hall of famer
PS17 81,920 #31 Posted July 1, 2009 no no no Joba has ace stuff...he is a front of the rotation starter...how can you question the all powerful Joba? Let's see, dominate in one job....lets move him So-so in another job, future hall of famer I love the logic. If I were manager, I would announce today that Joba is going back in the Pen and Hughes will taking his place in the rotation. However, with Girardi as manager, there is a negative 11% chance of that happening. I'm gonna call him Robot Joe from now on, because he manages like a robot. 8th inning? It's gotta be Bruney because he's the "8th inning man" of course. Forget that Hughes has looked completely dominant and that he just threw 9 pitches, lets take him out & bring in Bruney! Yeah! Rant over.
PS17 81,920 #32 Posted July 1, 2009 2 double plays in 2 innings. Gotta be better than that, Yanks!

MagicBizkit87 7,087 #35 Posted July 2, 2009 and plus Cervelli has shown he could catch Joba in the starting role. Very stupid move sending him down.
