MagicBizkit87
I think we may have found this years Alfredo Aceves. He just got promoted to Triple A Scranton. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?pos=P&sid=milb&t=p_pbp&pid=467100 First start was today. 5.2 IP 1 Hit 3 Walks 5 K's He doesn't seem to have the control that Aceves has though. Jetlag
Isn't this year's Alfredo Aceves, Alfredo Aceves?
MagicBizkit87
Alfredo Aceves came through the farm unknown last year, which is exactly what this guy, Nova is doing. I think Aceves proved himself last year that he was a very good reliever, and a guy who could start at any time when asked to, which is exactly what I think Nova will do soon. Otter
Aceves has done a great job in the bullpen. The guy is turning into the late 90's Ramiro Mendoza. So far he's 5-1 with 2.16 ERA and 1.089 WHIP.
Arsis
The late 90s yankees had to have the best bullpen I have ever seen. Some of those mother****ers were downright nasty. Lloyd, Stanton, Nelson, Mendoza, Rivera, Mendoza. If we had these guys in their prime now we would probably have 12-15 more wins than we do now. If we had these guys there would be no Joba bullpen debate because he wouldn't be good enough to pitch there. Jeff Nelson has three appearances in the 1998 world series with an ERA of 0.00 if I remember correctly. These guys were awesome.
MagicBizkit87
As soon as we got rid of this useless crap (Veras, Edwar, Albaladejo), this pen really isn't all that bad. We only really have one crappy reliever on this staff right now, and that's Brett Tomko.
