I drove home from the mall today, white knuckled.. F this rain.. every single F'in day. And today it was so heavy I couldn't hear the radio in my car and barely saw the road.

Rain !?!

No rain in TN for about... two weeks. Can't remember the last good rain. ;)

I'll tell you all a rain story. Pivotal things always happen to me in the woods. Last week in a place I know so well. I was in a mood, so I left my cell phone in the car on purpose. Blah blah woman alone in the woods and all of that. Why should I alter my life because other people are awful? My sense of balance is horrendous, but I swing through the trees and beat my chest for affect because I like it that way.

So I'm staring up at this scary incline of shale and discarded railroad ties. It's pouring like hell, and if I tumble to my death in the ravine, I'll smell like a dead deer and no-one will ever know the difference. I like the idea, so I go for it.

The longer I climbed, the stronger the sensation became that no-one would ever see me again. For some odd reason, I had the presence of mind NOT to grab this twisted dead scrub pine. It would've been the death of me. So I stayed flat on my back and kept kicking to move up. I didn't attempt to get my footing. Stay still, buh-bye.

I thought of my Daddy and everyone I loved, and then I told the world to kiss my ass. Right then, a live tree near the top, and I grabbed it. I was covered in mud, and I threw myself right next to the rail bed. Locomotive, baby. I laid there flat on my back with my hands pressed tight over my face in case gravel kicked up to kill me. As if my face would matter. All clear. I ran on the tracks and yelled after the train, "What do you want?" I shook my fist after it, and that would be me. I couldn't hear for a full 24 hours, but that trestle of mine, we're friends. It protects me.

Rain stories.

EDIT: Not that I can hear for crap anyway.

P.S.: The pictures I took the day after don't tell it.

Last Friday we had some storm come through my part of Central Jersey. Ligtening hit one of the trees on my property and fell blocking my driveway. Thank God no one got hurt. So yes I am tired of these storms.

Same thing out here in WNY. It's rained on and off the last week and it's raining right now. One minute it's raining , 5 min. later the sun is out then an hour after that it's raining again. Strange. It's really putting a crimp in the pool time.

Be happy it rains. It is better than a drought.

Drought here. Been a drought for over a year, because we got less than our normal little bit of rain last year and not much this year. Starting to look like: :tumbleweed:

No rain since early June, though had 2 days of rain and cooler weather (upper 90's) the last two days. Yea! Today is back to over 100 again, and had been been since middle of June (10 straight days). Looks like the next 10 days will be over 100 again. :frown:

WORST SUMMER EVAH!

WTF! It's July 2nd and it's 65, it's raining, there's a passing thundertorm with lightening and the streets of Boston are a big wet mess. I HATE MASSACHUSETTS! I HATE THE WEATHER! I HATE THE P-----S, I HATE THE ROADS, AND DID I SAY I HATE THE WEATHER?

LSL - I would rather bake and sweat in 101 degree sunshine and humidity that this sh*t I've been dealing with for a week now.

It's been relentless where I live too. Had a party last Saturday, rented tables, chairs and whatnot and we all wound up inside anyway.

Yesterday, it rained so hard and fast, that a small lake formed in my yard. My son was joking about taking his kayak out on it. Lakefront property certainly is a dream of mine someday, but this is not exactly what I had in mind. ;)

Sorry to hear that, Garb. Definitely I prefer the heat than cold, dreary rain. I had my share of rain and crappy weather in Boston, but this year sounds really bad.

I have to say your post made me laugh because I was imagining the person in your avatar yelling about the weather. The rant and the facial expression match so well.

Yeah but my tomato plants look like they should have small little gorilla armies hiding in them.
