JiFtheOracle
WR talk has been pretty popular, so to keep the top 5 theme going, time to hit on WR's. I started these threads with the idea of how 09 would project, the irony in this post is I think these are the 5 best and will also produce at that level. 1) Larry Fitzgerald 2) Andre Johnson 3) Calvin Johnson 4) Randy Moss 5) Steve Smith Larry is the best WR in the game. No doubt about it. Andre Johnson is damn close but injuries have plagued his career. I cant imagine how productive this guy would be with a Qb to speak of and some healthy years. Calvin is one of the most athletically gifted players in the league. Another guy producing without a Qb to speak of, hopefully for his sake Stafford will help him out in the dept. Randy is still Randy, he's aging but still better then anyone not already mentioned. Steve Smith might be the one that gets me some push, but he just makes plays. He plays big for his size and is just unstoppable at times. Honorable Mentions Reggie Wayne - always productive with Manning Roddy White - that offense is going to be dynamic this season and this kid is getting really good Dwayne Bowe - beast, going to have a good season with Cassel Wes Welker - he's productive, not as talented of the others, but his production is undeniable. Brandon Marshall - not matter who is throwing to him, he's a beast
JiFtheOracle
Lets just get this post out of the way... 1)Matt Jones 2)David Clowney 3)Wes Welker 4)Jerricho Cotchery 5)Austin Miles

SenorGato
I agree with your first list. That said, Cotchery is way too low on your second one. I'd have Jerricho Cotchery @ 1 and Matt Jones at 2. Clowney at 3 because he can BURN anyone.
JiFtheOracle
1) Larry Fitz 2) Calvin Johnson 3) Andre Johnson 4) Randy Moss 5) Brandon Marshall / Steve Smith Its top 5. Not 5 A/B

JiFtheOracle
I couldn't decide. I struggled with that one too, I think the lack of Cutler will hurt Marshall enough for him not to produce top 5. And for some reason I expect Delhomme to have a good season and Smith to benefit majorly.
Bleed4TheGreen
I gotta go with a top 10 list, because it's just too tough to come up with the top 5 Randy Moss Larry Fitzgerald Andre Johnson Calvin Johnson Brandon Marshall Steve Smith Marques Colston Chad Ocho Cinco Johnson Hines Ward Reggie Wayne Plaxico Burress would have made the top 10 (If we were signed as of right now) and Anquan Boldin, T.O and Dwayne Bowe were on the verge of cracking that top 10. Bleed4TheGreen
My top 5 fantasy WR's for 2009 would be... Moss (Brady) Colston (Brees) Wayne (Manning) Fitzgerald (Warner/Leinart) Ocho Cinco (Palmer) Those would be my top 5 fantasy WR's because we all know about Moss and Brady, Colston is a beast, Brees is a top 5 QB, Wayne will be the REAL #1 here in 09 for Manning and the Colts since Harrison is gone Fitzgerald could be the best overall WR in the game today and he's getting his...No matter the QB. I'm expecting a great year from Chad Johnson now that T.J has left with Palmer having a solid year again

He could be a up there this year. Aaron Rodgers is only going to get better, Jennings could have a monster season.

And it's pretty funny how much better Rodgers turned out to be over Alex Smith.
JiFtheOracle
Imagine if Calvin Johnson wasn't on the Lions. Stafford has a cannon, Calvin can get open. It wont be as bad anymore for the poor guy...but yeah. I agree. I like Jennings a lot this season. And it's pretty funny how much better Rodgers turned out to be over Alex Smith. Rodgers looked good last year. That offense should be pretty potent.

SenorGato
I'm switching my list because Andre Johnson gets no respect. Randy Moss Andre Johnson - He's been doing for 6 years what Fitzgerald finally learned to do last year, which is get yards after the catch. Larry Fitzgerald Calvin Johnson Steve Smith

That Green Bay offense will be top 5 next year, not a doubt in my mind.
Aqua4ever04
Imagine if Calvin Johnson wasn't on the Lions. He's so good, I really don't think it matters what team he's on. You're looking at 90 catches, 1,300 yards and 10 touchdowns anually from the guy even if you are playing left tackle and I'm playing quarterback. billybroome
Fitzgerald could be the best overall WR in the game today and he's getting his...No matter the QB. I would agree with this. Larry has the heart, the desire, and the ability. I'm expecting a great year from Chad Johnson now that T.J has left with Palmer having a solid year again I'm happy to see another who refuses to call him by his new name. None the less Cincinnati's #85 is poised to break out again with former Jet Laveranues Coles lining up on the other side from him.

JiFtheOracle
You just like Greg Jennings because you had him on your fantasy team last year. Last year I had way too many fantasy teams, I dont think there was a single skills player that I didnt have on one of my teams...lol. I truly think Jennings is a beast. Him and Rodgers are going to be a deadly duo.
AGAW
1) Fitz 2) CJ 3) AJ 4) Moss 5) Smith Just God given ability to do ridiculous things for every one of them. Obviously Jennings, White, Marshall, Owens, Wayne, etc... can be in contention for top 10 but those 5 should be pretty consistent throughout the NFL if you asked... StillerPaul
Well i'm basing my top 5 list on the guys i would love to see on my team. 1: Fitz 2: Andre Johnson 3: Calvin Johnson 4: Roddey White 5: Greg Jennings Look for Santonio Holmes to start putting up good numbers if Steelers O-line and play-calling improve. Bruce Arians is not a good OC imo.
