Jetfan13
on NFLN. A few observations: 1) Jim Leonhard was a beast for the 1st 1/2, then kinda dissappeared , but of course that was when Ed Reed took over 2nd) Didn't hear Bart Scotts name mentined very often and in fact don't think he played very well 3rd) The Ravens defense confused the hell out of the dol-fags continually 4th) They shut down that stupid wildcat crap all game long...it will not work this season If the Jets defense can catch on to Ryans scheme, it could be a very enjoyable season. After the game Rex and coach Harbaugh went to the stands by a bunch of Raven fans and threw them their hats. I really think those guys enjoy their jobs. LockeJET
It shouldn't surprise anyone if Bart Scott doesn't live up to his heafty contract. He was surrounded by so much talent and played next to arguably the best MLB ever. The Ravens D confused the hell out of the Noodle more so then the offesne in general. The Fins Wildcat was shut down before the playoffs even started. You are correct, it won't work this year. Even if they added Vick.

But to think we'll be getting the same Bartt Scott that played for the Ravens could be a stretch. I hope he's the real deal. But lets see him produce without all that HOF talent he was surrounded by. Whatever it is, he is a significant upgrade over what he had over there. IMO, his contract was a matter of circumstance, it was a market dictated contract. Bleed4TheGreen
Ridiculous you think they camped out in front of his house gave all that money because he knows the system? Bart Scott will be the vocal leader to the new Jets defense and provided the heat and swagger that was missing when man boobs was the coach. I agree. Rex Ryan is known as one of the best 3-4 Defensive minds to ever coach the game of football...When a coach like Rex Ryan loves a player, goes out of his way to sign that player, and consideres him an upgrade over Ray Lewis (Who's aging)...Thats saying something. Is Ed Reed really Ed Reed? Is Suggs really Suggs? Was Thomas really Adalius Thomas? Is Ngata really Ngata? One great player like Ray Lewis cant make a great Defense like the Ravens have had for years...It's a mixture of great coaching with elite talent and...Bart Scott is an elite MLB for ANY 3-4 Defense. Bart Scott may have played next to one of the greatest MLB's of all time, but the man still held his own while making tough play after play. Bart Scott was also the MLB who played back in pass coverage for the Ravens, he's considered one of the best pass coverage MLB's in the game today, thats something Ray Lewis could never do because lets face it, he's an aging player. Bart Scott is also considered one of the best wrap up tackles in the game today @ the MLB position and when you hear Football people talking about Scott's tackling ability...You never hear them say "Because of Ray Lewis". David Harris dominated as a rookie back in 2007, with pretty much no 3-4 NT on the D-Line and without an elite 3-4 NT...You have NO 3-4 Defense. Robertson was a 4-3 DT "Trying" to play the role of a 3-4 NT, it wasn't working, but that still didn't stop David Harris from being the best player on our Defense as a rookie that year. This only goes to show that, really good players make play after play...Scrubs don't, no matter who your surrounded by. Since becoming a starter 4 years ago, not only has Bart Scott played back in pass coverage as their MLB, but he's also wracked up 370 tackles with 16 sacks (While also playing back in pass coverage on opposing RB's and TE's. Thats an average of 92.5 tackles with 4 sacks per year and thats the reason why I'm pumped up about this Defense this year... This is why I feel that Bart Scott-David Harris and Kris Jenkins can make for the best Triple-Threat-Combo when it comes to stuffing the run this year (We were already one of the best run D's last year). Thats REALLY funny mr "I know nothing at all when it comes to talking foobtall with Jet fans" because it's funny how Jamie Sharper put up BETTER career numbers with the Texans...Than he did the Ravens. Jamie Sharper was a starter for the Ravens for 5 years...During those 5 years, he put up... 381 tackles, 14 sacks, 7 forced fumbles and 1 INT... That was an average of 76.2 tackles, 2.8 sacks, 1.5 fumbles forced and 0.2 INT's per year as a starter with the Ravens for 5 years. Would you like to see what he did as a 3 year starter with the Texans? lol, This is going to show everyone that you have NO CLUE what the heck your talking about TROLL... Jamie Sharper was a starter for the Texans for 3 years (After leaving the Ravens) And he put up 439 tackles, 11.5 sacks, 6 forced fumbles and 0 INT's. Thats an average of 146 tackles, 3.8 sacks, 2 forced fumbles with 0 INT's per year. Sharper with the Ravens-76.2 tackles, 2.8 sacks, 1.5 fumbles forced and 0.2 INT's per year.
