Exhale, Jets fans, 6-foot-4, 360-pound defensive tackle Kris Jenkins is back!

After doing individual drills to the side early in this morning's practice, Jenkins went to the locker room, put on his pads and joined his defensive line mates in light drills. He had been sidelined nearly two weeks.

An old _ and big _ friend returns

By MARK CANNIZZARO

CORTLAND _ Good morning from Cortland.

Early thoughts on the Jets first of two full training camp sessions on the SUNY Cortland grass field ...

_ Nose tackle Kris Jenkins, who's been out of practice since the first week of camp, trotted onto the field in full uniform to practice about five minutes ago after testing his strained left calf out with the trainers.

The Jenkins sighting is a welcome one for the Jets, who are depending heavily (pun intended) on him to anchor their defense this season.

Now let's hope Jenkins stays on the field. Question is, will be play against the Ravens next Monday night?

_ Other injured Jets are milling around the practice field. RT Damien Woody (concussion), C Nick Mangold (right knee) and LG Alan Faneca (finger) are still not practicing. Mangold is running with CB Darrelle Revis (hamstring) right now on the turf field. FB Jehuu Caulcrick is also not practicing.

_ New punter Ken Parrish is wearing the uniform No. 9 vacated by rookie T.J. Conley.

_ Temperatures expected to climb to 93 today, so the afternoon practice should be a pleasure.-(buck up you northerners-it's that hot EVERY day at Dolphins practice-SFJ)

_ Team drills haven't yet started, but Kellen Clemens is due to take snaps with the first team this morning with Mark Sanchez taking them with the ones in the afternoon.
