New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox @ Fenway Park Series Thread

Recommended Posts

Red Sox schedule in September. I'd be worried about the games against Tampa.

3 @ Tampa

4 @ Chicago

2 Baltimore

3 Tampa

3 Angels

3 @ Baltimore

4 @ Kansas City

3 @ Yankees

3 Toronto

4 Cleveland

Especially if the Yanks and Rays sweep their current series'. :D

Go ahead, Yankees. Waste all the runs tonight! :D

You say wasting runs, I say padding stats.

Of course and they will be big, but those last 17 games are against team that will be playing for nothing.

Remember in 2004 when the Yankees blew out the Sox 19-8 in game 3 of the ALCS? What happened after that?

ANYTHING can and often does happen. :)

Hang on to that thought with all you got, pal:rolleyes:

Last year at this time the Yankees were only 8 games above .500 and 10 games back in the division. I think the Sox are in pretty decent shape all things considered.

The Yankees sucked last year and had no pitching

This year, the tables have turned

And if the Yankees don't win it all this year, how much does last night's win or anything done in the regular season matter? It would be a complete failure.

Winning the AL East, the toughest division in baseball is considered a failure?

I'm not one of those "if we don't win it all the season is a failure" guys

Sure I would be disappointed, but we ended up crushing the Sawx when it counted

I'm sure Hank and Hal and all the money they spent this offseason would deem it a failure. You know they're just like their old man in that he wanted results for the money he put in.

I would go so far as to say that the Yankees of the 21st century are monumental failures. Almost 2 Billion in salary and absolutely nothing to show for it.

Good job, Yanks. At least they're helping to stimulate the economy.

The 21st century is far from over.

I guess making the playoffs every year but one counts for nothing.

It means nothing that you can say this now, in the first decade of the century, let's see how they end up.

If it's anything like last century, they will be anything but failures. ;)

Meanwhile the Ped sox could still pull another 2 in 90 years! :rl:

It's a shame to see the team with the "best every day lineup, best and deepest pitching staff in all of baseball, and a whole stable of kids ready to fill in and perform at a moment's notice" (sort of like Bowden did last night......) throw up their hands so quickly..... :baby:

Just read that the Sox are putting Wakefield back in the rotation and removing B.P. Too bad for the rest of baseball.

Bowden was sent down to Pawtucket to regroup. Enrique Gonzalez was recalled.

Yankees are making Tazawa-san and his 88mph fast ball look like Cy Young. :bag:
