The Bacon Explosion is actually a very poor execution of the "fatty", which is a general term for any rolled, stuffed meat that is barded in bacon (to prevent "blowouts") and (preferably) smoked.

These guys somehow managed to gain national notoriety for the most unimaginative, overly salty recipe for something people have been discussing on BBQ forums for quite sometime.
