sorry, not spelled out well enuf,,he was out 2 straight years for panthers (shoulder /knee), 2004/5, then in 2006 he played but due to weight he had poor 4th qtrs,,and he played with supposed leg issues, although he played,,

I think he was out a few games last year for Jets as well, or lat least came out of a few games and didnt return and he himslef admits his pay in weeks 11 thru 17 suffered due to his hernaited disk issues,,

In the wake of Favre underbusing Tannenbaum and Mangini, the Jets' injury report figures to be a voluminous document every week.

Jenkins' back is a daily problem. Expect he will be rotated in and out as he always has been to keep him fresh.

We don't need Kris Jenkins at practice-we need him on Sundays. Let him sit out EVERY practice and stay healthy. That's what the smart coaches (like, yea I'll say it Bill Belichick) do. That's one of the things I really like about rex Ryan, he is a players coach-UNlike the last dictator we had here.

I think we should draft a NT in next year's draft in the first round. Hopefully without giving up more picks. :bag:

I'd say that is clearly our biggest need. If Jenkins goes down, the Jets = kaput. We need a backup & someone to step in, in a few years when Jenkins retires.

No thank you. Lets draft one in Round 2 or 3 instead. Don't need to spend a 1st round pick on a reserve.

JENKINS IS NOT OUT FOR SUNDAY.

HE PRACTICED TODAY.

Mike Florio corrected his original erroneous report. This is the correction:

Kris Jenkins not out for Friday or Sunday

Posted by Mike Florio on September 18, 2009 4:20 PM ET

We were confused by a report on ESPN during the 2:00 p.m. ET hour, attributed to John Clayton, that Jets defensive tackle Kris Jenkins was out.

It wasn't clear whether Clayton was reporting that Jenkins missed practice on Friday, or whether he has been listed as "out" for Sunday's game against the Patriots.

We still don't know which message was intended, but neither would be right.

Jenkins, per the official injury report, was a limited participant in practice on Friday, and he is listed as questionable for Sunday, due to a back injury.

But it sounds like he'll be playing. Indeed, coach Rex Ryan said during a Friday media session that everyone should be ready to play.

Ryan also offered a specific assessment of Jenkins' abilities.

"He's such an unusual guy," Ryan said. "He's a guy that if he is not in there, the other team will no-huddle you to prevent him getting back on the field. He's that kind of difference maker. I feel good with the guys we have behind him. There are probably only one or two Kris Jenkins in this league."

Then Ryan ripped off his shirt said, "What you gonna do when the New York Jets and Hulkamania runs wild on you?"

kinda hard to tell a dad he can't be a dad though. y'know?

of course it is hard , but hopefully he isnt a freakin IDIOT!!!!!!!

he gets paid millions by Jets to play sept thru jan..he has a KNOWN back and disc issue,,so duhhhhhhh, during football season has to be careful of anything that may throw it out other than football itself..

all part of why they get paid MILLIONS..short career, injury, sacrifice etc etc ..one of sacrifices is staying away for situations where u r PRONE to injury,,u can play with your kids OTHER than wrasslin on floor for gods sake,,
