I guess they dropped the price by $20, it's $30 now. I was just looking at the benefits for becoming a VIP...they suck. No ads, "premium" articles, and a shirt. Who would buy that?

The ads are getting obnoxious though.. they popup over the whole screen and disable the page up/down keys

in before klecko insults sooth trolling for max rep

Let's see if that holds true once you get next month's Verizon bill.

LOL -- true. I may have to edit those posts.

C'mon people it is like .59 cents per day, help out become a VIP.

Bob -- I got a can coozie when I bought the DeWayne Roberston jersey from ji back in the day (true story).

The second I see an obtrusive ad like that on a webpage, I click the red X in the top right corner of my browser. I hate those bastards with a passion. Same with ads before a video starts--**** that, I'm not watching your ad you bastards!

homebanner3.jpgJI 2009 Membership Drive: Become a VIP! Now only $29.95 with NO ADS and free stuff!

By Jets Insider.com Staff

mail@jetsinsider.com September 29th, 2009

2009Tee.jpgBecome a JI VIP and get this 2009 commemorative Tee Shirt FREE as well as a 2010 refrigerator magnet game schedule!

Dear JetsInsider.com Fan: When we created the JI VIP program we did it with a lot of innovative and new features such as instant camp and practice reports and online fan chats just to name a few.

However, since we started this, the mainstream media has seen what we pioneered and started implementing the same things through blogs that bring stories to readers much faster and some even do their own online fan chats to connect with the fans.

Therefore, a lot of the unique premium features we have offered over the past few years are not so unique anymore. Also, after moving training camp to upstate New York, our coverage hasn’t been the same simply due to budgetary restraints. We also realize the economic environment for some is tough so we have decided to reduce the cost of a yearly VIP subscription to $29.99. If you have ever thought about becoming a JetsInsider.com supporter, now it the time to do it!

As a VIP member you will get the following:

-An ads-free Jetsinsider.com fan forum - lighter and faster too!

-Daily camp reports and breaking NY Jets news directly from Florham Park throughout the entire season sent to your personal e-mail address.

-Access to our members-only Fan Forum Messageboard with expanded private message box.

-Occasional exclusive online fan chats with Jets experts and insiders when they can be scheduled.

-An annual JI commemorative tee shirt this year and each year you renew.

-An annual exclusive JI Jets schedule refrigerator magnet starting for the 2010 season.

-The rewarding feeling that you are helping support this great Jets community that has been going strong for a decade!

2009 JetsInsider.com exclusive commemorative Tee Shirt for all VIP Members

JI will also be implementing new features to the site including expanded exclusive video content and a JI radio station that will feature a weekly show that you can listen live or via podcast through Itunes. We are also working on a show that will be hosted by Jets Superfans discussing all Gang Green topics.

Thank you again for your continued support and for being the best NFL fans on the planet. GO JETS!

LSL

maybe you should have modeled jets T:D

I don't know, afo. Verde's avatars really raised the bar on T-shirt modeling.

And, no, I won't post a pic for everyone to judge.

I will send you a personal letter if you promise to never leave us. :-P

Thanks, no worries, though. Could never leave the land of misfit toys. :yahoo:

One thing -- I tweeted the first Brett Favre practice last year live. I don't remember a lot of people using it that way at the time.
