****Official Jets vs Bills Gameday Thread****

If you only kept the plays that worked all the time, or even most of the time, you'd run out of plays really quickly...

Many teams run that smoke screen and it works. The assertion that it cost us the game in the playoffs is foolish too.

Bottom line, you have to run the ball up the guy, that's what Jones is for. It's not just about the gains, but making the offense respect it so you can take your chances downfield and to the outside, it's also about wearing out the defense.

Yes but you need to not run the exact same type of runs out of the same looks... or they will get stuffed... shotty uses certain looks for certain runs and never changes it...

Fans can point it out a lot of the time... you do realize that if we can know what will happen the DC on the other team can destroy the play...

I think it's cool if you have the personnel for it. The JETS do not, we are not Miami. We end up wasting a perfectly good down for mediocre yardage.

BUll****... Leon and Brad Smith are built for the wildcat... granted Brad is out this game but you cannot be serious...

Dude, we suck at the wildcat. Chew on it and swallow it instead of being a blind homer.

Neither one runs w/ the power of R.Brown/R.Williams. That, and the Dolphins have greater size and depth on the O-line.

Wilcat is mostly blocking, and we don't stack up there.

And if you were a Bills fan, and saw hundreds of Bills snaps, you'd see the tendencies too... You just have a Jetcentric view of everything (much like the wildcat) and it's killing your ability to see reality.

The reality is that the JETS offense has sucked under SHotty... Favre had to force his will on him just to open it up a little...

Sure everyone blamed Chad but he did better in Miami too... everyone does better without Shotty...

Sanchez, a Southern California quarterback in his rookie season in his 6th game with high winds and cold of the Meadowlands... not much opening up you can do, to be fair.

And did you see the difference between Miami with Pennington vs. Henne.

The Jets offense looked good when Favre was healthy.

Further, I'm not even arguing that Shotty is a good OC, just that you're scapegoating him rather than facing the reality that the team just isn't as good as you think it is, and being held back by the OC.

Fans love to blame the coaches when they can't pinpoint a real answer.

Shotty is the Pennington of OC's.
