Understanding Welkers value is just common sense, Doofus. You and your "ilk" live in a city by a river called "Denial." It must be fun. I hear ignorance is bliss. It must be fun. I hear ignorance is bliss. Wow, just wow. You have evidence of a nothing player stepping in and performing just like Welker yet you choose to ignore it. I really want Moss to get hurt this year. If for no other reason than to illustrate to Pats fans just how ****ing completely clueless they are as to Moss' and Welker's relative value to the team. If the Pats had to go without Moss, they would have no chance of winning. He is the thing that makes that offense go.

JiF
Compared to the Jets obsession with Sanchez' and his volumes of NFL experience? Your quote: Im not obsessed with Sanchez. Why was Galloway such a bust? Gaffney? Reche Caldwell? Donte Stallworth? Doug Gabriel? Chad Jackson? All had enough talent to get on the NFL field, but none could come even remotely close to his production. JAG catches 40 or so catches in the Patriots system. Welker is special whether you want to admit it or not. Even after missing 2 games, he is on pace for another 100+ catches. Yeah, you are right.....clowney could duplicate what Welker did. I said 2nd and 3rd WR's and you through out those name? Silly. O.K dooshy. When I say get on the field...I figured you would know I meant an viable option. You named a bunch of terrible not even JAG receivers, some of which are no longer in the league. Wes Welker is 3x the receiver of them all. Maybe a better way of putting it is, I think there are 50 players in the league that could do what he does. Whether you want to admitt it our not, Elderman proved that. FTR, I never said Welker is a bad reciever. He's a good player. My point is, you guys make him out to be elite, which he is not. He plays his role well, but there are others that could do the same playing in that system benefiting form possibly the GOAT at WR1 and Tom Brady. PFSIKH
Wow. The Patriots won three titles without Moss. Three titles with guys like Brown, Branch and Givens. None of whom who have the atletic talent of Moss. Keep digging your hole. Klecko lives next to an ocean. Like who? You miss the point. Who is as adept at lining up in the slot and performing as well as Welker? Who is adept as breaking tackles and getting the YAC? Moss could line-up in the slot and be effective, but will he be as effective as Welker? No. Nor would Wes be as good lining up on the outside. Julian Edelman was effective, but he was not as effective as Welker. Moss was not as effective either. The Patriots O with Welker is a lot more effective moving down the field. It can grind it out better. Whether JN wants to admit it. Welker is a player. He performed well in Miami with crap QBs. He has excelled with the Pats. All he has done since college is catch balls, He is not the physical specimen the NFL looks for but he catches the ball.

IIRC, hes already had 2 - 1000 yd seasons and is approximately 500 yds away from another one.

PFSIKH
when welker catches 100 passes out of 1 or 2 slot please call us and alert the media Yeah, that is the only reason. He averaged almost 65 catches a year in college at Texas Tech. Over 90 his last two years. 67 catches with Joey Harrington, Daunte Culppepper and Cleo Lemon. 112 catches from Brady. 111 catches from Cassell. Again, on pace for 100+ (105) from Brady. Despie all this evidence, according to JN, Welker is JAG. Funny thing, I remember a similar argument about 7-8 years ago about Brady. Again when he catches 100 passes thrown way beyond the line of scrimmage we will all stand up and applaud..until then he is a nice little slot wideout. 124
Again, I do not understand this infatuation with the Patriots. If we win, we control our own destiny. Period. When it comes to Moss and Welker, just save it. There are some people that do not understand that Wes Welker is the PERFECT player for the Patriots system and think that anyone can do what he does, which is 110% incorrect. 124
Spoken like a true closet Pats fan. Stop embarrassing your uncle. Yep. Cause closet Pats fans spend thousands on the Jets and closet Pats fans will be at the Meadowlands tomorrow morning at 8am. Wes Welker is a perfect fit in New England. You're going to tell me almost anyone else could do what he does for a consistent amount of time? You're delusional. But then again, we've had this conversation before. You're stuck on Moss' ****. Irish Jet
Randy Moss is pretty overrated. He's not even close to the player he once was. Welker is great at what he does. The stats don't tell the true story (They never do).

PatriotReign37
All the short passes serve multiple purposes. 1. They are as good as a run play. Just like in the West Coast O. 2. They counter the blitz or pass rush when there is little time. 3. They sometimes draw the defense in setting up a bigger play down field. 4. And, they are good for 1st downs.
