DireJet38 5,302
Actually no. As any Yankees fan will tell you: spending money isn't enough, you have to spend it wisely. Spend it wisely? Being wise is signing the Top 3 free agents on the market? Hmmm, a GM running on auto-pilot could make those "wise" decisions. Just give him a blank checkbook. Congrats on the title, though. I was just stating that the Yankees, in fact, did buy it. But there's nothing wrong with that

Then you shouldn't get so defensive when people call it out. If it isn't an issue to you, then simply ignore it. For others, it is an issue.

For others, it is an issue. There's no reason to call it out. The Yankees are not breaking any rules. You're acting as if we should be less of a fan because the Yankees spend money. "Like ohhh man...Yanks spent a lot this offseason...I better reevaluate my fandom."

I just thought this was the thread to discuss it, seeing as the column centered around it. And I don't think anyone should re-evaluate anything

I didn't choose to root for the Yankees five years ago. I didn't jump on any bandwagons. I was born in The Bronx and raised a Yankees fan. I hate bandwagon Yankees fans more than you do I'll bet. I am rooting for my hometown team. Please allow me to enjoy it without your petty comments.
Greenranger 13,649
Sounds to me like a lot of jealousy by Mets fans because the Wilpons try to open up their checkbook all the time and it ends up blowing up in their faces.
