SouthernJet
'Brothers' is a tale of both a global war and a war within a family. This film is plot driven and grabs you from frame one and doesnt let go. The plot centers on a husband/wife , 2 kids, his brother, and his Mom and Dad. The Husband is a lifer soldier on his way to yet another tour in Afghanistan. He is a loving husband/father. He is shot down and presumed DOA and enter the just released from prison 'always screwing up' brother and the Lifer marine alcholic Dad. The films pace and twists and unexpected turns make it very engrossing. We see a metamorphis in virtually every character in the film, almost all of them a God-send. The film explores 'what ifs', 'what will be's' and most impotantly the fraility of Human life. The acting is stellar with Tobey Maguire, Natalie Portman, Sam Shepard amd , IMHO, the best of all of them, Jake Gyllenhaal. For those into solid scripts and performances, this is a film to go see. Enjoy. 3 's

It left me weirded out a little though for no other reason than war is hell.
