So RSN and all Yankees haters ... what's Plan B?

Recommended Posts

I gotta admit, this depresses me to no end. Seeing the Yanks prosper with that disgustingly huge payroll and with two openly-acknowledged steroid users fueling the offense just makes me long for the purity of sport. What ever happened to fair play? What happened to America? What happened to Joe DiMaggio? Willie Mays? John F. Kennedy? When did the dream die? When did the pulse of this great nation stop beating? Where is the heart? Where is the soul? Answer me, Yankee fans...has it all been worth it, to spit on the American Dream, all for a silly ring? I hope you sleep well tonight. I really do. God Bless America...whatever George Steinbrenner leaves of it.

God bless America, land that I love

Stand beside her and guide her

Through the night with the light from above

From the mountains To the prairies,

To the ocean white with foam

God bless America, My home sweet home.

God damn, I hate you.

Im at the point now where I hope they dont. They wont beat the Angels or Yankees, much less the Cardinals, with the team as is.

My focus all year has been taking down the $210 million Evil Empire. Im thinking Chicago can actually do that.

So let's look at this logic here...

I make a post saying that Chicago has a good chance to beat Boston. JBF proceeds to say that Chicago would "get SMOKED by a much better team." Now you say that you've said all year that Boston wouldn't repeat because they're a totally flawed team, which is true. Chicago is beating up a team that you say didn't have much of a chance of repeating, so now they'll be able to knock out the mighty Yankees. Of course, you have to admit you're wrong and were completely irrational (as always).

So, I assume you thought Anaheim was going to beat the Yankees? I mean, if you thought Boston wouldn't repeat but that they would beat Chicago, then Anaheim would be your only hope. That's not looking too good either, is it? Yanks win game one, and now they're up 1-0 in the second game, and they STILL get to come home with their two best pitchers going. Anaheim needed game one to have a chance.

You'll also note on the pre-season prediction thread that I am the only one who icked Chicago to win the AL Central because of their pitching staff and relatively easy division when all y'all were falling over each other to pick the twins.

But the Chisox have played like absolute sh*t for at least a month and only a fool or partisan Yankee hack (no offense, Jetfanhack) would have been confident in picking them to beat anybody at the time. So forgive me for not taking you seriously when you extolled the mighty Chisox.

What exactly did I say that was partisan or foolish? Do the White Sox have great starting pitching? Yes. Do they have a great, deep bullpen? Yep. Do they play small ball? Definitely. So why the hell do teams discount the White Sox? Being able to manufacture runs is important because at this level, the pitching improves dramatically (except up in Boston). Great pitching usually beats great hitting.

Yeah, what a great bullpen, spearheaded by Dustin Hermanson! Dude, small ball will only take you so far and for the last time......Chicago has SUCKED for about a month and a half actually...so I dont want to hear how you just KNEW they'd get to the postseason and flick the switch. Contreras pitched very well yesterday but Buehrle's offspeed garbage was more than hittable thus far.

The Sox have been flat as hell since the 4-game Toronto series. Swinging at pitches 50 ft. out of the strike zone, pitchers getting behind hitters and throwing out of the stretch with guys on base...thats why the Sox are losing, oh and rally-killing baserunning by Fatass Millar too. The White Sox are really just standing idly by as the Red Sox are beating themselves.

Chicago won 5 straight games to end the year, including 3 straight against Cleveland on the road to knock out a desperate Cleveland team out of the playoffs. That shows me something.

And Hermanson had a 2.04 ERA this year with a 1.1 WHIP. You can't even compare him to Timlin, who had a 2.24 ERA and a very mediocre 1.32 WHIP, which is a much more reliable of weighing pitchers' values. You know who else had a 1.32 WHIP? Tanyon Sturtze. Timlin's peripherals say that he's going to start allowing some runs soon.

And Hermanson isn't even their closer. Ever heard of Bobby Jenks, a hard throwing reliever with dominant stuff who dominated your sorry team for 2 innings?
