Joe Flacco is the Worst Postseason QB in the the SB Era

The critics here really don't understand something. Just because Flacco sucks in the postseason doesn't mean he sucks at a QB.

Look at the following HOFers postseason numbers:

Fran Tarkenton (6-5) - 149 completions, 292 attempts, 1,803 yards, 11 touchdowns, 17 interceptions, and a 58.6 QB rating.

This is part of football. Donkeyboy thinks it's lame, but this is reality of the NFL. Some good QBs crap in the postseason.

Why don't you put out a poll and lets see who likes like Donkeyballs

Winning the "big one" has absolutely NOTHING to do with this discussion.

This is purely about postseason performance by a QB, win or lose.

Fine.

Peyton Manning's first 4 playoff Game Ratings

62.3

82.0

31.2

35.5

2 TDs, 6 INTs. All losses. He also had Harrison at the time, who was young and not a 36 year old Mason. Couple of those games he had MArcus Pollard and Reggie Wayne.

I am beginning to think Jet fans were last in line to pick up brains

Why is everyone killing SMC here...he's just point out that Flacco's been terrible.

Yeah, he's young doesnt have a ton of weapons, but he has enough. Nobody was complaining about his weapons when the Ravens were airing it out and scoring 30pts a game during the first half of the season.

Maybe he will turn it around, but the stats dont lie, he's been awful. Though I do give him a lot of credit for playing through pain.

Statistically, these are the 2 worse Postseason QBs:

Craig Morton (5-5) - 87 completions, 219 attempts, 1,188 yards, 9 touchdowns, 15 interceptions, and a 42.9 QB rating.

Joe Flacco (3-2) -57 completions, 120 attempts, 660 yards, 1 touchdown, 6 interceptions, and a 46.51 QB rating.

Considering that Morton played in a different era (1970s), Flacco's numbers are worse. Note, no other postseason QB with at least postseason starts come close to Flacco's or Morton's numbers.

Those are the facts.

Morton and Doug Williams were probably the two worst postseason QBs up until Super Bowl 22. Williams had been so poor in the postseason that going 18 of 29 for 340 yards and 4 touchdowns only bumped up his postseason passer rating to 53.6

Doug Williams was 68 of 169 for 1110 yards with 9 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in postseason games.

Put your money where you mouth is bub?

Now how does that make sense?

You just made yourself look like the biggest idiot on the board

Actually, so long as you're on JN I'd never get that top prize. Thanks for having hope for me, though.

If you remember, Peyton was getting killed back then for not being able to win in the playoffs. That Peyton also would whine and blame his O-line. People forget that the Peyton Manning we see now is a mature, seasoned veteran.

The thread title is premature and too harsh, but that's probably in response to all the people that want to put Flacco and Ryan in the HoF already, and who want to pretend Sanchez is the worst QB of all time (not so much Jets fans, but national media and other fans).

This thread is about Flacco though so I guess I shouldn't bother comparing to Sanchez.

Vote this thread as one of lamest of the year

+1.

Flacco's WR corps might be the worst in the NFL.

No, he hasn't been that good in the playoffs, but the title is stupid and misleading. He is not the worst postseason QB of the SB era.

And the guy won two playoff games in his rookie year and one is his second year.

Three playoff wins in his first two years in the league. Not many QBs have had more.
