So now people talking smack are to removed from the game? Stadiums would have 4 people left in them at the end of the game.

Opposing fans talking smack, yelling and chanting the other teams slogan. Over, and over, and over.

I think it would be more appropriate to simply send one security person to ask them to calm down, but that is why I assume there is more to the story.

Why would the Chargers fans around him say he was doing nothing wrong then?

Are you serious? One cop doing something wrong is insulting to all cops? Screw that noise. It's a job not a secret society or a brotherhood. If you have charger fans defending him saying he didn't do anything it is safe to assume that he did nothing wrong. He shouldn't have resisted though. That was dumb. There are cops in this world who go too far from time to time. It's a fact, it happens. boo hoo. They guy is alive and the charges will probably be dropped.

The idea that none of you were there, yet are all convinced that the cops were wrong and arrested the guy for no reason, is insulting. You people have no idea what transpired before hand. None of you were there and therefore, none of you have a clue as to what really happened. Quit relying on what you choose to believe as the truth to base your unsubstantiated opinions on the matter.

hopefully the Jets see this and fly him out to Indy.

lol What?

Seriously with the video shown here you are going to assume he did nothing wrong and the JETS should fly him to indy?

I saw a guy get kicked out of the meadowlands for being loud, drunk and obnoxious this season... should they fly him out too?

GOB, what color is the sky in your world???

ALL of the CHARGERS fans around the dude are yelling that he did nothing wrong.

If he did something wrong, I am sure they would be applauding as he got yanked.

THIS needs to be sent to all the New York media outlets and exposed!

Just disgraceful!

What is insulting is your response. It shows the god complex cops have. Cops can do no wrong. People suggest it looks like the cops might have done something wrong and it is a problem. We were not there but have seen the video. It looks like a ****ed up situation to me. Everyday I see videos on youtube of cops going too far beating up people. It happens and it looks like it MIGHT have happened here as well. It was certainly an overreaction. The guy at the end? Who was cursing and yelling at the cop? Did nothing illegal. guys are allowed to curse and yell. No law against it. Disrespecting a cop? Perfectly legal.

All of them?... lol

Also that still explains nothing... a handful of drunk people defending a drunk person means nothing.

And now you're the one making assumptions. How are you so sure that anyone is drunk?

With that gap in the video, there's no way to tell what was done or what wasn't.

Oh yeah...if you guys are a bit angry.

Feel free to contact...

Sent an e-mail with this video to abc, fox and cnn. Everyone including G.O.B can do the same. We can complain about police misconduct and overreaction. Serve and Protect. Not bully and intimidate. G.O.B can submit is as story about a job well done and how cops should represent themselves and interact with the public.

Wow. Those three days at the academy really made you bitter.

Wait, why was he arrested?

The cops rolled him up like a rug and carried him out. Totally neccessary.

The fact that it got to that point was poor policing. Put G.O.B out there and I guarantee you 100% that guy gets to walk out of that place peacefully with an escort.

Dude was trying to dislocate his arm not to get cuffed... you cannot sit there and talk to the guy with 20,000 people near you that could get in the mob mentality if you do not act swiftly...

If he was right and did nothing wrong... all he lost was the finish to the game and has a cool story to brag about with a video on youtube...

If he was wrong, the stadium did nothing wrong.

Life is not fair... be bitter about it all you want but guess what? When you are done crying and writing emails it will still be just as unfair.

How come all the cops in Foxborough failed to catch the Pats cheating? Dereliction of duty?

To call me a cop with a god complex is funny. First of all, I hate being a cop, wishing I had used my teaching degree to teach high school history as first planned. Secondly, I'm the first to admit that like any other line of work, there are plenty of douchebags who ruin it for the rest of us. I work with some, trust me. Hell, I work with one who ran over a guy, killed him, and got her job back! I'm the first to admit when a cop screws up and call them out on it, but I'm also the first to call B.S. when the Public Opinion Lynch Mob descends upon cops for something they have no idea about. You're all basing your opinions on 3:41 of video some guy took with their cell phone camera. No one here, including me, has an idea what transpired BEFORE the video....and that's my whole point. You can't say the cops were wrong any more than I can say they weren't wrong. For all we know, he was drunk and was going to merely get escorted off until he resisted...or, the cops were pissed the Chargers were losing and had a hair on their ass to arrest a Jets fan. I don't know, and neither do you, which is my only point with my ongoing argument.

Pat, I saw them (sd's finest) yell at a guy and his kid for throwing a football in the parking lot last year  and threatened to fine the guy  they are very thorough with their police work in sd.

I have never seen a police presence like that at any stadium I was ever at. they should put more money into having more port a ****ters in the parking lot.

You are right about this. But as viewers of the 3:41 youtube video shot on a camera phone, we saw that every Charger fan in the area thought that an arrest was way overboard. The end of the video with the guy wearing the Merriman jersey exchanging numbers with the woman who was with the guy who got arrested, and the other guy standing up to the cop at the end are examples.

It's safe to assume that the cops were out of line when even the enemy fans think that what happened was bull****.

Well Jim, I trust your opinion bro. In that instance, sounds like SDPD needed a Tampax. It's amazing how grumpy cops can be when they're making time and a half.

It appeared the SD fan in front complained to the cops. One of the cops was talking to him at the end of the video - not the SD who was escorted out.

Also, stadium security has cameras that can zero in on a fan is there is a complaint. They can watch from afar to see if an individual is out of line before sending in security.

That would be a fair assumption for sure, and I will agree that the preponderance of the evidence would indicate that based upon the video. I'm just saying we don't know what caused the officers to choose to make the arrest and the fact that the video didn't start until after the arrest was being effected, makes it hard for me to assume anything. For all we know they were bring pricks, or for all we know they were merely escorting him out until he got frosty and resisted. We have no idea.

Someone call Qualcomm and get the damn surveillance video. One of us is eating crow by the end of the day.

I will 2nd that Jimmy..I have been to 2 games at The Q ( including last year with you) and won't go back. The cops there often go over the line with their authority. The fans were pitiful, I almost got attacked walking out by a guy who was about 6'6" and no cops anywhere. They just don'thave their priorities in line.
