johnny green balls
catcher in the rye is probably the most overrated and misused novel of all time. RIP JD.

Otter
Not a big fan of the book. I feel bad for all those 10th and 11th graders who are forced to read it in English classes every year. RIP
Bruce Banner
I went to public school and when I got to college I had to listen to all the prep school kids tell me that Catcher in the Rye was their life story. So sick of hearing that. I came to hate the book from associating it with loser prep school kids who write poetry.

drago
i loved catcher in the rye... it has been awhile since i have read his works but i enjoyed them all. loved franny and zooey i liked franny and zooey too. He had a couple really good short stories, my favorite was "banana fish". I'm a big Catcher in the Rye fan. My friends and i always debated if it was awesome or terrible. I obviously went with awesome, something about the character had always struck a chord with me.

war ensemble
LOL! "catcher in the rye" was overrated to a 6th grader... gold.. that is comedy gold! Haha, no, it's overrated from others I know in grade and high school who think it's the best book of all time. I enjoyed it, but it's not the be-all end-all of books that some people make it out to be. It's not like I read much in 6th grade. As far as I know, 3rd-5th were my big reading days, and then freshman and sophomore years.
