Marky Mark Sanchez
I want to preface everything I am about to post by first saying that everything never goes according to plan. But, there is a lot to look forward to and as Tanny and Rex look to retool and strengthen I think the Jets success is just beginning. Here are my many reasons: Jenkins will come back strong, and our DLine will be that much deeper Pace will not be suspended, missing training and the first four weeks Gholston can only get better, right? Help is on the way for Revis by way of our first round pick Rhodes' play was a dissapointment and he will either turn it around or we will replace him and improve here Keller is becoming a better blocker Leon and Greene will be the most exciting backfield in football Sanchez' chemistry with Edwards is just heating up, with a slot receiver on his way Sanchez has had a bumpy first year, but there is no doubt that he is getting better and will take more snaps as the offense looks to get more consistent Rex has had this defense for only a year and made great strides, with another year our defense might win us every game Can we make it back? I think we can make it back and then some. This is a superbowl caliber team.
Integrity28
The crappy thing about the off-season is that every other team is doing as much as they can to get better also. We just have to hope that we add enough to compensate for what we lose from the perspective of leadership, talent and intangibles. Given that we made came up 30 minutes short of the SB... and we were really only an average team, I would NOT put it past the 2010 Jets to end up back in the playoffs and making a go of it. I think we can make it back and then some. This is a superbowl caliber team. Jenkins will come back strong, and our DLine will be that much deeper-YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU'RE GETTING FROM HIM...TORN ACL IS HARD TO RECOVER FROM IN A YEAR...LET ALONE A BIG 360 LBS BEAST, WHO IS 31 Pace will not be suspended, missing training and the first four weeks-I AGREE 100% Gholston can only get better, right?-HIGHLY DEBABTABLE...HELL HAS A BETTER SHOT OF FREEZING OVER...I WOULD PREFER MO LEWIS, EVEN IF HE IS 50... Help is on the way for Revis by way of our first round pick-HELP IS ON THE WAY, BUT MAYBE NOT FROM OUR 1ST ROUND PICK Rhodes' play was a dissapointment and he will either turn it around or we will replace him and improve here-AGREED(HOPE THAT MAN IS ROLLE) Keller is becoming a better blocker-I DONT KNOW ABOUT THIS ONE Leon and Greene will be the most exciting backfield in football-VERY DEBATABLE...LEON COULD BE DONE, YOU JUST DONT KNOW...A LEG INJURY LIKE HE HAD, AND HE RELIES ON HIS SPEED...WHO KNOWS...GREENE WAS INJURY PRONE IN COLLEGE...HE GOT HURT IN PRE-SEASON, AND KNOCKED OUT OF THE COLTS GAME...SO COUNTING ON GREENE IS GREAT, BUT WE DONT KNOW IF HE CAN HOLD UP...I HOPE HE CAN Sanchez' chemistry with Edwards is just heating up, with a slot receiver on his way-DEBABTABLE TOO BC SANCHEZ HIT HIM DEEP MANY TIMES...THERE WERE SOME DROPS BRAYLON HAD...THE PLAYOFF TD PASS...THE LONG 80 TD DROP....BUT THE SLOT RECEIVER WILL HELP... Sanchez has had a bumpy first year, but there is no doubt that he is getting better and will take more snaps as the offense looks to get more consistent-THIS I HOPE IS TRUE...HE WAS A ROOKIE, SO YOU EXPECT IMPROVEMENT...EVEN THOUGH HE SHOWED THE FLASHES, YOU NEVER KNOW IF HE MAY REGRESS... Rex has had this defense for only a year and made great strides, with another year our defense might win us every game...WE HAD A NUMBER ONE DEFENSE...YES...BUT OUR DEFENSE WAS THE EQUIVALENT OF A .340 HITTER, 40 HOMERUNS, 140 RBIS, BUT CANNOT DRIVE IN THE WINNING RUN...OUR DEFENSE LOST GAMES, COULDNT MAKE THE BIG STOP (ATLANTA), AND IF SANCHEZ HAS MELTDOWNS, OUR DEFENSE CANT HELP US THERE... I THINK RIGHT NOW, WE CAN EITHER BE A 10-11 WIN TEAM, OR A 7 WIN TEAM...OUR SCHEDULE WILL BE A LOT TOUGHER NEXT YEAR, AND OTHER TEAMS WILL BE IMPROVING AS WE DO...NOTHING IS ETCHED IN STONE SAYING, "BECAUSE WE WENT TO THE AFC CHAMP GAME, WE WILL GET EVEN BETTER"...YOU JUST DONT KNOW...I HOPE IM WRONG, BUT IM JUST SPEAKING LOGICALLY HERE... CoachTsurfing
Another year under Ryans coaching and Sancez's QB skills will help. What hurts is we are going to have a hard time improving through fa. If we can get another CB that is better then Lito we will be tough to beat. And you're right jenkins needs to come back.
drago
Leon and Greene will be the most exciting backfield in football You have a lot of nice points but come on...no way we have the most exciting backfield in football. You need to watch some Titan or even Rams' games. Those two backs can flat out run the ball. I love the Leon and Greene duo but neither of them are even top ten running backs at this point. Valid point and seeing as LW is coming off of a serious injury, the jets have no idea what they are getting with his return. The Jets are realeasing thier most reliable and prooductive back on Friday. That one does not make sense to me given the uncapped year... Our russhing attack unless we replace Jobnes just took a huge hit IMO...
Biggs
The D line is my biggest concern. I think it's highly suspect. I also think Sanchez probably needs another year under his belt to not lose games for us. The thing we do have going for us is the AFC isn't particularly strong right now. Miami is going to be tough and so is New England but I wouldn't call either team elite. We need to take care of business in our division next year to make the playoffs. Marky Mark Sanchez
Agreed, the key to next year's success will be beating the dolphins and patriots. And though a lot of ppl are suspect of Leon's come back I don't believe the Jets would let TJ go if they didn't believe Leon was going to have a good recovery. It may be a stretch to say Greene is top ten at this point but he finished last season playing top ten, and if he can stay healthy he very well could be a top 5 rusher. Also I wouldn't say our defense lost us any games(except the AFC championship) because they kept us in every game and sometimes the offense has to take care of business, but with that said I do foresee us causing more turnovers and being more stout against the run. Our russhing attack unless we replace Jobnes just took a huge hit IMO... I'm not mad at all about the Jones thing. I actually wanted him released last year, which would have clearly been a mistake. I always agreed with the Steelers philosophy of 'rather release them a year too soon than a year too late." Jones cannot have much left. The only thing I really like about the guy is what his teammates say about him. Then again, teammates said the exact same thing about Pennington and everyone knows he cannot win the big one. Jones is like Pennington's mirror, IMO. I have faith in Leon coming back full strength. That's not to say i think he'll be an elite RB but I do think he will be full strength. Broken legs don't tend to slow guys down if they are afforded a full recovery. It's the tears that will slow you down.
JiF
"Can" we? Sure we "can". Will we? Who knows. For some reason I feel like this team will regress a bit and be much better the following season. But then again, we have the recipe to win consistently now, I'm just not sure that we have the ingredients.

Our russhing attack unless we replace Jobnes just took a huge hit IMO... There are lots of reasons. Jones was due about 6 million in 2010. Hes what? 32 this year? Hes had 5 seasons of 290+ carries. The numbers dont add up going forward. Despite the year being uncapped, sensible teams are still going to operate within a budget. Leon Washington wanted a new contract last year and I dont believe he will be happy playing under the tender he received in 2010. The money that was allotted for Jones could go to a new deal for a younger player like LW or Edwards. Just sayin. Besides LW and Greene, the Jets have another RB they are high on. A late 09 pick I think?
SMC
The Jets made it to the title game in 1968, 1982, 1998, and 2009. That means they're scheduled for their next AFC Championship game appearance in the 2022 season.
124
Yes, we can. Will will? Time will tell. Need to add two solid Cornerbacks (a #2 to complement Revis, and a #3) to get any further than the AFC Championship, that's for sure.

Or we could 2003-it and have him go down with a broken wrist in Week 3 of the preseason. I am very nervous of Sanchez going down in 2010 after what happened with Vinny in '99 and Chad in '03. Hopefully we can break the curse. Edited March 3, 2010 by

There were so many injuries with Chad, I get LOST!
