New England Patriots outside linebacker Adalius Thomas is disavowing himself from any claims he has expressed his desire to be a New York Jet.

Thomas, in an e-mail to Boston Herald reporter Karen Guregian on Monday night, denied comments Jets inside linebacker Bart Scott made two weeks ago on ESPN Radio's "Mike & Mike."

Scott was a teammate of Thomas' with the Baltimore Ravens. They played under defensive coordinator Rex Ryan, now the Jets' head coach.

"It's funny," Scott said. "I was hanging with Adalius Thomas for Super Bowl weekend. We're buddies from back in the day. He made it public that he's expressed in interest in joining Rex. I think some of his better years of his career have been a part of the Ravens' defense and under Rex Ryan's tutelage. It'll be exciting."

Thomas had a falling out with Patriots coach Bill Belichick last season. Many are shocked Thomas hasn't been cut by now.

As you read Thomas' e-mail to Guregian, you can almost hear the screeching brakes.

"I've heard of all the chatter up there about me," Thomas wrote in the e-mail. "It was about something Bart Scott said on TV, [and] that's not what was said. ... I have never told anyone that I wanted to leave and go play for the Jets.

"I have been asked by coaches, reporters, players, 'where are [you] going to play next year?' And my response has been I don

and the whole thing about this is it doesn't change one thing...it doesn't NOT make NE cut him sooner-they're not idiots they know the Jets would be the logical landing spot when and if they do cut him-if we here on the boards can figure it out...

I'm sure Bart Scott is being truthful here

Here's some truth for you:

Thomas is being shopped. If there are no takers, he will be released. Since BB hates both the Jets and Thomas - my guess is that he will try his hardest so that the two do not marry.

Oakland makes the most sense for a number of reasons.

1. Al likes doing deals with BB. There have been 4 thus far: Seymour, Burgess, Moss, Gabriel.

2. The Raiders wont pull a counter trade with the Jets unless Davis is stripped of ownership.

3. Thomas would be shipped to football hell on earth.

Yes, because punishing a player should be the focus of a trade, not improving your team.

Thomas was nothing but a D nozzle last season despite being paid a kings ransom.

He made his own bed.

No he wasn't. He was angry for being called out publicly for being late for a meeting despite being stuck in traffic because of an accident during a snowstorm which is perfectly understandable.

With the way you spin it's amazing you don't work in PR for the Pats.

Do ever tire of being wrong?

Thomas and BB got into the very 1st game vs Buffalo 09. Previous seasons, Harrison and Bruschi kept his big yap shut when he thought that he knew more than the coaching staff and beeched and whined about the scheme.

BTW, take that green jock strap off your head.
