Greenseed4
If he pans out, and because of injury concerns he didn't with the Jags or the Cowboys... But if he does, we would basically have TWO Shonn Greenes, and TWO LT's on roster

I'm holding out for a combination of Earl Campbell and Gale Sayers. I'll be happy if he's as good as Danny Ware.

#27TheDominator
i think he means that chauncey is the 2nd greene and leon is the second LT Ah, I see. Now I understand. IF they carry 4 backs I'd be surprised if they are all active on game day. Especially if they keep Woodhead around. It looks like Washington runs pretty hard from that clip. There were some things I didn't like, but he does seem to hit the hole hard and not *****foot around. Seems like the kind of back to take advantage of a good line. flgreen
I like Washington a lot. I think he is still going to be the second back. I think with the addition of LT Leon is the one who is in jeopardy. Perhaps a draft day trade. Just can

LWC611
I'll pose this to you but would be interested to hear responses. Am I the only one that thinks Woodhead has what it takes to be a decent NFL #2 or #3 RB? I haven't seen anything that says he cannot. Sure he is small but it's not like he uses that to run people over. Think of the advantage guys like him have, front sevens who are made of guys from 5'11" to 6'7" or so trying to get down and tackle the little ****er. I'm ok with woodhead as a number 3 and i honestly think if he were active in the AFC title game everyone else would be currently thinking the exact same thing. JMO. I actually like trying him out in the slot more than in the backfield. If woody is third on the depth chart now it is due to the unnknown that is LW. Assuming, LW is back to form, then he isn't the third best RB on the team defintely not the second best. Given we have Chauncey Washington, he may not be the 4th best. He needs to KA on special teams and learn how to be a slot receiver for the Jets to get any real production out of him.
Joey Jet
Yep. Longshot but Woodhead might be a consideration for the slot wr we're looking for. Yeah i think so too. I think with a full off season under his belt knowing his role he can turn into our version of Wes Welker(wishful thinking of course). He's a scrappy guy with pretty good hands and is tough as nails. stoicsentry
Is it just me or do his runs look a lot like Shonn Greene? Two things: seems to be a "barrel" out there as he puts his head down into contact and doesn't look all that fast BUT seems to have a good burst/acceleration. SoFlaJets
no, actually the best kept secret on the Jets roster is Larry Taylor the guy they signed from the CFL-he looks like a Leon Washington clone on returns-I heard they are thinking of using him as a slot receiver-he's MY dark horse player that I'm rooting for
SenorGato
Calvin Pace - Big contract player still somehow unnoticed and underrated. All this talk of a pass rusher being the biggest need on the roster, but Pace would have had 10+ sacks if he didn't miss the first 4 games last year. We barely recognize how good most of our starters are...IMO.

flgreen
I thought his style was a lot more like Thomas Jones' To me he seems to have a lot more power then TJ. In the highlight video that is floating around, he must knock 6 different helmets off. Hey, I'll take a young TJ with 4.35 speed
Integrity28
I thought his style was a lot more like Thomas Jones' His style is like Barry Sanders, but more powerful like Jerome Bettis... and with better leaping abilities like Mario with the raccoon tail, and supreme beast mode like Blanka from Street Fighter. Jenkins will always get double teamed, and we need someone else on the defensive line who can get consistent pressure rushing every down.

In the 3-4, the primary job of the DL is to occupy the OL and free someone else to make the play. There aren't too many Bruce Smith's on the planet. If those three are handling five OL, and Revis and Cromartie are handling their receivers in man, the Jets aren't going to have any problem blitzing whoever the hell they want, whenever the hell they want. If the Jets decide that a DE in the first round represents the value, I'll have no problem with the move. That's the only starting piece the Jets are currently missing. I just don't want them reaching.

I agree with Joey Jet. Too many guys are saying negative things about WOODHEAD without ample proof of failure. REX has tons of info on the guy. He made sure he kept him on the team. Why? Its because he has excellent speed and hands. Lets give the guy some time in the slot position before we use the usual doom and gloom tactics.
