SoFlaJets
Posted by Mike Florio on March 17, 2010 2:16 PM ET Running back LaDainian Tomlinson appeared Wednesday on The Dan Patrick Show, and Tomlinson talked some more about his decision to sign with the Jets. And here's something we haven't previously heard. "It wasn't about money at all," Tomlinson said. "I could have taken more money in Minnesota." He again said that New York is a "better fit" because he knows offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. "I know the offense," Tomlinson said. Of the situation in San Diego, Tomlinson said, "It was time to move on. . . . It's Philip Rivers' team and it should be. . . . That wasn't the type of team that benefited my style." In other words, Tomlinson is saying that the Chargers now pass too much, and that they don't run enough. And he thinks he can still run. As to whether he still has a 1,000-yard season in the tank, Tomlinson told Patrick, "Absolutely." L.T. also said he was never close to joining the Saints, that he would have picked the Jets even if he had known that Brett Favre would return, and that he could never play for the Raiders. "I couldn't just go to the other side," L.T. said. Given that he picked the team that knocked the Chargers out of the 2009 playoffs, some San Diego fans might say he already has. Nah, he's referring to the seedy dark side of the AFC West, SD's number one enemy.

Sharrow
I would think that most Charger fans think they beat themselves by missing those field goals. We would have beaten them anyway, but that's probably what they think; that they beat themselves. So they probably don't hate us nearly as much. Correct. I disagreed that many SD fans would see NY as the "other side." To them, the "other side" will always be Oakland. How or where did I imply the Jets? If we lost in a game like that, and Feely missed 3 FGs, 2 of which were chip shots, wow this board would have crashed.

Ghost
SD fans really hate us. I went on a couple of messege boards, and all I heard them say was how bad they hate us and how they can't root for LT anymore. We knocked them out both in 2004 and 2009 in the playoffs. I really don't know what he has left G-I hope to see Green get about 250 carries maybe 125 from Leon and a 125 from LT

nodimwithere
Good for LT, although I still believe the prospect that Brett Favre might not return to Minnesota may have had something to do with his decision. $$$ are obviously secondary; he wants to win a championship, and senses that chance with Rex Ryan's team. Still a class player! But he has to know that the Jets will open up the offense more this season. It's a wide-open passing league now.
