Chad Henne says Tim Tebow

Tim Tebow absolutlly blew people away at the Pro Day outing on Wednesday. A NFL personnel director congratulated Tim Tebow on how much progress he’s made in the six-plus weeks since the Senior Bowl. Tebow’s response: “Just wait until you see the next six weeks.”

Sounds like the ex Gator’s star is confident and ready for the big show. One NFL QB doesn’t think that translates to success in te big leagues.

Miami Dolphins backup Quarterback Chad Henne was quoted saying “My judgment is that he’s not an NFL quarterback,” Henne told Curtis Stevenson and Anita Marks of WQAM in Miami regarding Tebow. “I’ll leave it at that.”

Henne got the start in Miami after starter Chad Pennington once again went down with an injury. With the keys to the Miami kingdom Henne showed he had great arm strength but seemed to have problems throwing into tight coverage; Henne’s interceptions cursed the Dolphins in the late season. Henne’s luke warm season was ended with an eye injury as The Dolphins tried to cling to playoff hopes.

Maybe Henne is a bit nervous that Tim Tebow might fall to Miami in the 3rd round of this year’s NFL Draft. He would be a great replacement for 3rd string QB Pat White. Chad Pennington doesn’t have much left in the tank and after last season it seems that Chad Henne is not the answer. Miami could use another QB.

to the last sentence I say WHA...?

Wow.

Last off-season, there was a bunch of trash talk between Crowder and Rex. However, only Rex got criticized for his part.

Here we are again, with another mediocre Dolphins player shooting his mouth off a year later... part of me wonders if they'll find a way to blame Rex for this too.

Even Unitas was panned in the beginning! He was cut by Pittsburgh( if I remember correctly) and labled as inferior goods. He made it -would be an understatement. LOL Henne should worry about his own career. He is woefully inaccurate for an NFL QB. I love his arm strength but accuracy is also very important.

not on this board 2-8. On THIS board EVERYTHING is Bill Belichick's fault.

I'm in no way 100% convinced that this is the guy yet, but this is the closest we've come since Dan to having a promising young QB with a good arm. To say that he isn't the answer at this point to me is ridiculous.

I agree with you. Who is BRUCE OWENS and who does he write for? Henne has shown a lot. He is still a bit inaccurate but what an arm. most big armed QBs place too much faith in their ability ti sling it in there. He will learn and BLOWFISH fans will have their QB. I was hoping that we would draft him when he came out. Great arm and the ability to play in kind of weather. Also a tough guy!

yea I would have been pretty happy to see Mark Sanchez throw for over 300 yards 3 times last year

Just a couple of things here, Tebow, from all reports I've heard looked...better but not great or outstanding etc. Secondly, wow Henne is a douche.

Why is he a douche? It's no secret that most NFL Scouts, Media and Players think that Tebow will not pan out as a NFL QB. He didn't tear the guy apart or anything. Was probly asked the question gave his honest opinion and left it at that.

I actually agree with you, BUT he has absolutely no room to talk about anyone else. He looks like an ass running his mouth about whether other people look like a "real NFL quarterback" considering he's yet to decisively prove that he is one. The ability is certainly there, but he's got a long way to go before he's in any position to be judging others.

He's a douche because you don't come out to the media and say another guy sucks.

I think he did pretty damn good considering with what he had to work with at the receiver position last year-and this from a Jets fan

Right.

Not only does Henne still have a lot to prove himself, but the guys in this league who have proved themselves know better than to publicly slam potential draft hopefuls.

It's a douche move. Makes him look small.

Well he didn't say REAL, that sounds even worst.lol Your better off not commenting in that situation, but it was a radio interview and he probly got hit with the question and just gave his opinion.

Part of Henne's inaccuracy is his lack of targets to throw to. When Miami gets some WRs not named Ted Ginn Jr. to stretch the field, their passing game will come around. Of course, by that time, they will no longer have the personnel to effectively run the ball, wildcat or not.

Exactly.

Not that it's likely, but it is possible they could be teammates come April, if not further down the road.

I'm gonna bring it right now with some actual stats. Ready?

Chad Hennes' comp % for his career: 60.8

Mark Sanchez career comp %: 53.8

If Henne is "woefully inaccurate", what does that make Sancez? Disastrously terrible accuracy, maybe?

"I think he has a lot of intangibles and works really hard. He showed his commitment to correcting his flaws and that's good."

That is what he should've said.

Yea, but Henne has one more year of experience then Sanchez, compare Hennes' 09 stats with Sanchezs' 10 stats and see who is more accurate. And you know it will be Sanchez.

I doubt he called a press confrence to discuss how Tim Tebow doesn't have the goods to be a pro QB? It would be nice to see the entire interview to have some real context. I'm guessing he was asked a question and gave what appears to be an honest opinion. Nothing really wrong with that.

Stats mean zilch. Wins are what is important! Sanchez proved what he could do and the future is bright. Henne is a very talented guy. strong arm and a bit inaccurate. he also had the" benefit "of having to throw deep and sometimes they caught them. hence his stats seem great ala CHADWICK the great! Stats mean zilch unless they are the won and loss records. Sanchez was accurate when he had to be. he went through rookie mistakes. His stats are great when you look at the wins-loss record including the playoffs. No doubt he threw some ints but so did Henne. Henne also has more experience then Sanchez. But why make this Sanchez v Henne? The fact of the matter is that HENNE shot his mouth off about another guy about to enter the draft, it was a sbag move and not very professional. I am not even saying what he said about TEBOW was wrong. I just detest that fact that he said anything about another player in a derogatory way in public. I think he owes Tebow an apology.

Chad Henne rode the bench for an entire year. He came in once for 1 series in 08'. To say Henne has more experience is assinine. While yes, he was on an NFL team studying tape, he didn't have any game experience and never worked with the 1st team players.

Your deflection is one that has been said ad nauseum here many times, and the argument doesn't hold water. Fact is, Sanchez had much better recievers and a better line than the Phins and should have had better stats. But he didn't.

Henne did better with less, and it's hard to dispute that. (unless you're a green glass wearing, Jets Homer ;))

Please. Henne was a 4 year starter and a Senior. He had a year to learn the system and he took a division champion team to the 3rd best team in the division when Sanchez took his team to the AFC Champ game as a rookie coming out after staring 1 season in college.

But thanks for saying we have a better OLine cuz I'm pretty sure you tried to argue differently at one time.

And I laugh at all the hate Tebow generates. It just gives him more motivation to get better.
